Will Muschamp to UF

well I wanted Muschamp but I wouldnt trade Dooley for anyone right now. I think we got the perfect coach for UT and he will win a NC within 5 yrs if not more than one.

The East is gonna be very interesting the next few years to say the least. I think it will be a pretty good hire for the Gators, the Applewhite OC rumor is stunning though.

All I can say is I was thrilled we weren't able to get him. I was scared to death we would hire him with no head coach experience. He may be great, and he may not. I'm just glad Florida is the Guinea Pig and not us.

I think he turned them down. I have so much more respect for DM if that's what he did do. He's a great guy for MSU, they need him.

Espn quoting Foley as saying that Muschamp is the only person they went after, only person they spoke to

Somebody find the "real story" on a Texas or Florida message board.

1) Who turned Foley down?
2) Who all did they go after?
3) Where was Muschamp on the list?

ect....

I think Dooley was the only one where the conversation got that far. I think Hammy would openly admit he went after Muschamp and it just didn't happen.

Dooley may have been the only one that officially offered, but there were several people before Dooley that just had to say yes.

No head coach experience. Not a bad thing for us.

He is animated, but we will find out how that will translate to the delegation needed for the decision maker.

I don't think Muschamp is a bad coach, but I think he is a terrible fit for Florida. I could be wrong, just my opinion

There's no reason they should be settling for him as their head coach.

Sucks he declined us, but went with the gators. It is what it is I guess.

I don't think it sucks. Sucks for them maybe. The guy has no head coaching experience. I didn't want him. They are taking a huge risk. He is an unknown as a head coach. It might work out for them, and it might not.

this is the best possible scenario for the Vols! didnt this fool turn us down last yr? karma, b!!

So, you are a gator. What is your opinion? Honestly now. Give us what u first felt when you heard it.

surprised. mainly because i was pretty sure it would be someone with head coaching experience.

also, he's a bulldog.

a lot of people get sucked into being disappointed by not getting someone they were never going to get (bob stoops, anyone?).

my first impression is not one of overwhelming enthusiasm, but i am far from pessimistic and dismissive about it as well.

we'll see.

According to Gator Country, you would think Florida just hired the second coming of Knute Rockne or Vince Lombardi. All they did was reload at coach
