Will Muschamp to UF

i have to keep reminding everybody that we have evidence that florida, florida state, and miami can all be good at the same time.

florida can't keep fsu from being good even if florida got every recruit they wanted. there is too much talent in the state.

we have proof of this. florida and florida state played each other for the national title in the mid 90's.

I remember that. I think on more than one occasion, but can't remember for sure, weren't they all 3 in the top 10 at once?

And now FSU, they aren't there yet but after this hire they will be, plus with Jimbo bringing great talent, they will be back on top.

The Miami search is hilarious...they are considering hiring a CFL coach...lol.

Possibly, but this isn't the mid 90's anymore.

.....between, south florida, central florida, and other schools coming to florida poach recruits. I don't know that the talent pool is deep enough to support the big 3 to their past levels. ...not at the same time, anyway.

Ron Zook v2.0?

I don't think he will do that bad, but I think Florida would thrive better with an offensive guru rather than a defensive one. Florida just seems to always have that speed that translates well for offensively gifted coaches.

What a disappointment for you...swing and a miss.

this may work on some people, but not on me.

i won't judge the hire until i see the product on the field.

the one thing i find funny is that he is a bulldog and is rumored to be bringing another bulldog with him (kirby smart).

i didn't eve judge ron zook until i saw the product on the field.

as always, i will hope for the best.

All of Texas and the media said Muschamp was "the coach in waiting" behind Brown. Blah, blah,....blah

This year definitely showed the parity that has happened in CFB. Texas is a prime example. A team loaded with 4 and 5* players and has been at the top of the recruiting rankings the last few years, played in the NC game last year, and apparently had a pretty good DC and another good coach in Applewhite, went 5-7 and isn't even going to a bowl game.

orange bloods seems to have mixed emotions on his departure... doesnt seem like he will be missed ....

the texas staff is apparently being picked clean.

muschamp, applewhite, and now a db coach named duane akina.

they also fired their offensive coordinator.

Mack Brown's sinking ship is sinking. :birgits_giggle:

Bruce Feldman tweets that Applewhite to UF isn't a done deal. Maybe the Gators should hire Randy Sanders, he's an up and comer! Hehe

So, you are a gator. What is your opinion? Honestly now. Give us what u first felt when you heard it.

I'm fine with this hire. I feel like Mullen would have been a can't-miss pick for the Gators, so I'm glad they went with an unproven guy. Not sure why they made this hire...or even why Muschamp gets so much love. He wasn't who I wanted the most last year.

Yup.

If they hired either Mullen or Wittingham, I would be sick.

Muschamp....ehh. I like our chances.

I can tell you from living in Austin, 99% of the Texas fans loved Muschamp. LOVED Muschamp.

I can't imagine being jilted liked that... your favorite son jamming the knife in your back. Ouch.
