will muschamp will be floridas next coach

Nature of some on this board. If we got Him He would be a great coach. Now He is a utter failure. So funny.

For Tennessee it would be a great hire absolutely...with where our program was at he would've been huge for us...for Florida it was weak to grab a guy with no HC experience for a so called "Top 3 Head Coaching Football Job" in the nation.

If you don't see that then so be it. Many would have expected a big time HC name to come along. Not a HC in waiting.

I hope Muschamp finds the karma like Kiffin did. Tuck tail and run for a job loaded with talent.....the easier thought path to success....then make it look average at best.

He's also a huge departure from the Meyer mold making the restructuring they do deeper and more disorienting for their team. Then add Applewhite and you have the grand canyon of shifts for them.
Factor in CWM's temper, the stress of living up to Meyer's feats, his inexperience as a HC and you should have some fun.

If DD can't win our division in 2012 something is way wrong.

The S.E.C. East title officially comes down to U.T. vs. U.G.A. after today's Florida news.

Can't believe Mullen wouldn't leave Missy St. Is it possible the Gators didn't ask?

if they didnt their nuts, IMO mullen is a top 15 coach. i also believe dooley is in that catagory. Hes made mistakes, but he took over a job NOBODY would, not even our boy cutcliff, and for that il always respect him:loco:

My earlier post when everyone was claiming Florida would get a big fish..
"Urban was already getting booed this year during several games. I don't remember the one game game but they booed the hell out of them during one drive. Will the next coach want to replace the guy who couldn't make that bandwagon fan base happy with two NC under his belt? Just a thought, coach may ask himself do i want to be the guy that replaces the guy..."

Big Name guys said No Thank You..especially with the bandwagon fans:hi:

Nope. USCjr still the team to beat next year, IMO. At least as of right now.

With Garcia, Jeffery, and Lattimore all back, there's no reason they shouldn't win the East again. Everybody else has too many question marks.

"Several freshmen transferred, others threatened to leave and there seemed to be a huge divide between the team’s underachieving seniors and Meyer’s highly touted newcomers. Players refused to point fingers, but there were outcries for personnel and assistant coaching changes. There also was another arrest, the 30th involving 27 players during Meyer’s tenure.

Muschamp will try to turn things around."-govolsxtra-

Now they are gonna get a lil taste of what we been thru. Damn cocky @ss gator fans. I would love for Ala. to have a big down fall. They are the worst fans

If Florida switches their offense to pro style or air raid like Texas, they are gonna have a rough few years.

No good wrs, no good rbs, the most overly hyped qb since Russell sheppard in john brantley

This.....
This hire is probably the best news TN fans can hear!
It's gonna be funny watching them trying to get an offense together.
Going from a spread to a pro or vice versa can be disastrous.

Just got home and heard the news.

My initial reaction was, "This@&$%ing sucks!" I felt that way because (1) Muschamp is one of the best recruiters in the country, and in time, he will have prospects flocking to the Swampy Wasteland. (2) he has coached nationally-ranked defenses at LSU, Auburn, and Texas. This hire worried me at first. But now, after looking deeper into this choice by the Slimy Reptiles, I know that this could go either way in the long run. Muschamp could be a bust like Ron Zook, or he could be a rags-to-riches story like Gene Chizik. This is his first head coaching gig, and naturally, he will make some mistakes and say or do things he shouldn't say or do. His inexperience as a college head coach is what makes this hire average at best. Now, I am very indifferent about this hire; at the risk of sounding too confident, I am not worried when it comes to Tennessee and our chances of beating the Reptilian Race next year, but I am worried that ultimately, his cutthroat recruiting efforts will build a Meyer-esque monster over time.

Did anyone else on here get the vibe that he turned down the Tennessee job twice because of some anti-Volunteer sentiment, considering that he played for the Puppies, he coached at the Plains and the Bengal lair, and that we offered him twice and he turned us down twice, but the minute Slimy Reptiles comes calling, he bolts? I'm no conspiracy theorist, but do you all think that he may have been trying to stay out of Tennessee at all costs? Anyone else get that retrospective impression?

Hmmm, not interested in the UT job, but takes the Florida job a year later. Don't like the guy already, and don't much about him.

really...would YOU turn down the Florida job?
and would you have taken the Tennessee job?
really..
hmmmmm take a rebuilding job for a team that has had no relevance in 10 years..even if their fan base think they should be the #1 team in the country.
OR
Take a head coaching job with a team that has won 2 NC games in the past 4 years in a state with unlimited high school talent.
it's a no brainer.

last time I checked... Garcia got benched like three times. And well, he's Garcia.

This is great for S. Spurrier. Now I have somebody to hate even more! Being a hometown boy from Rome, GA and only a few classes behind MusCHUMP, I was holding my breath last year, hoping he would take the job here at Tennessee. After this past season, I'm happy the CHUMP passed on the job! I see his true colors now. After a horrible season at UT, one in which they will not be attending a post season bowl game, the CHUMP has decided to move on and give up the "coach in waiting" position at one of the most prestigious Universities in the nation. Must have been his fear of having to build a program from the ground up, having to build a program around players that wanted to play for him and not just a name. The CHUMP now inherits a reqruiting class from the past two years that is practically second to none. Come short of a being a complete and total failure as a head coach, he's almost guaranteed at the minimum, a sucessful first two years at Florida.

Having lived in Dallas, TX for the last 6 years, you can believe me when I say I'm so sick of hearing about Texas football (UT-Austin and A&M that is) and how they discredit the SEC out here. Now, I've finally got something I might be able to relate to with my fellow Texan brethren. Where I use to say I was proud that CHUMP knocked me on my @ss in H.S., I'm now sorry to say I even stepped foot on the same field.

For all us VOL fans, maybe Dooley wasn't our initial ideal hire, but atleast he had the ballz to take the position. Considering the circumstances, he's done one hell of a job! With the understanding that coming from LA Tech to a major SEC program is without a doubt a major leap, I offer you something to ponder.

Given D. Dooley's background along with situation he inherited when he took the job, how do you think our program would have faired, had we fielded a top 10 reqruiting class this season? I think 6-6 with a bowl berth is great with what we have and Props to D. Dooley for getting it done. I feel we are on the verge of rebuilding our program into a top 10 contender within the next 2 years, but also doing it with the pride and integrity that says "it's great to be a TENNESSEE VOL"! What say you VOLNATION?
