Same thing on the court...................I can take the losses..............BUT as has been the case for the last few years, the ladies appear slow and out of shape. They are soft!! Same O Same O
Kara Lawson would be my choice.

I just want to say there is no hate and please forgive me if there has been a similar thread posted. This is just a conversation, but I am concerned that Tennessee will never be amongst the elites again. I remember there were times I couldn't wait to get in front of the big screen in my house to watch the Lady Vols play, to see the new recruits and what they will bring to the team or will the team make a deep post season run possibly finally getting to the Final Four. These last five or more years have been hard to watch. It's like Tennessee never shows up in the big games or rarely win games that they aren't the favorites. The Sweet 16 has become the new norm. Third place in the conference has been accepted as good. There has been loaded rosters during these times but the play on the court has been just good and not great. My expectations have dropped significantly. I don't watch their games anymore. I only check score tracker when I know they are playing because it has become hard to watch a team play with little passion and sloppy basketball. I understand NIL, but Tennessee's recruiting wasn't great prior to NIL. The coaching, the offensive and defensive schemes makes you just shake your head. As a fan base, do you all think Tennessee will ever be amongst the elites again and considered a national contender?
Not without a real coach and a painful rebuild without the Lady Vol Mafia

They need to hire a coach. They don’t appear to be willing to do that.
Like who? Many on this site Say it should have been Jeff Walz way back when. His Louisville team lost to Alabama today. Then people said Brenda Freese. Take a look at what Maryland is doing this year. There is just too many good players in the game nowadays and 2-3 teams aren't going to beat up on 98% of teams out there by 30 every night. The game has grown.

None of this explains why Tennessee should be content with mediocrity.

well 17-13 to 26-7 this year who knows i know she is demanding of her players
Last year Duke was loaded with All-Americans. On paper, they should have been one of the best teams in the country and yet they got beat in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament. This year's Duke team should have the same type of record we saw in year 1.

i see it like this. Basketball goes through eras. It’s all about the coach. You have a good coach you can win championships. Right now we don’t have that. We have the talent on our team to be rlly good, they simply aren’t getting coached to their potential.
This post is true. A good coach makes most of the difference in WCBB. Look at Mulkey. A NC in her 2nd year at LSU. Coach Kellie is an above average coach. However, she is not a NC coach.

I think there are some great coaches at the mid major level that if given a chance can become excellent coaches in a Power 5 conference. The coach at Princeton does way more with less. I can only imagine if she had the resources like a Tennessee. Will the administration ever look outside of the Pat Summit coaching tree? I just hate to see the Lady Vols program continue to crumble or except the bare minimum.

Multiple sweet sixteens isn’t on every coaches resume despite what they want u to think
We can also ask Standford and Duke if the Sweet 16 is "automatic" for good teams.

The game and times have changed but many like to pretend as though we are still in a 1990's era of WCBB.
