There is plenty of work happening to do just that, including addressing the ridiculous drug laws that filled our prisons in the first place, but such work gets framed as “loving criminals” and politicians push back with their “law and order”/“tough on crime” junk that the general populace eats up
BS. How long does that take? Why is Bloomberg doing it in Florida?

Oh no, people have to stand in line for a while in bad weather to vote?

I'm sure these people feel sorry for them.

I think it's the discrepancy that is the issue. I bet those guys would be a little ticked if the line down the road on the good side of the tracks had no line and twice as many people working it. It's all relative.
If everyone waits 3 hours, great.
If the only people waiting three hours are the people in democratic strongholds, not so great.
But you know that.

Take it up with the local officials, they (county level) are teh ones that staff the polling places. It's not a fed issue.

When he refuses to leave, his supporters will stand proudly be his side. Trump will feed them some kind of crap about the left stealing the election and Trumpers will eat it up.
Go ahead and mark this post and pull it out in 50 days.

You are delusional.

It's largely a state issue, and we know how those red states operate.

You are delusional.
You are one who said you would support immediate impeachment if he refuses to leave. I respect that.
Let's sit back and watch.
I hope I'm wrong. I hope he accepts the obvious and inevitable and concedes on election night. Not holding my breath.

No, it's a local issue. County election board controls them.
The Elections Division of the Secretary of State’s Office organizes and oversees all election activity, including voter registration, municipal, state, county, and federal elections

Neither is conceding on election night and I fully expect this to end up in front of SCOTUS (unless it is a landslide in either direction) but come inauguration day Trump will leave peacefully if he losses.

Maybe in GA but in TN the county runs the elections.

Returning to the earlier discussion, you guys are right in the sense that the EASY way for the Dems to bypass the hurdles that have been put up, and will be put up, by the GOP is to either vote in person or get the mail in ballot in the mail pronto, at least a month before the election, to give it time to get past the slowed down USPS.

I would dearly love it if Trump's defeat is so overwhelming on the night of that there is no need to count the mail in ballots that will also favor Biden and come in after 11/3, but within the period allowed by state law.

Rob Trump and Barr of their fake issue # 3,578.

Here's how I see it playing out.

He'll be wildly ahead on election night, but counting will drag on forever as new mail-in ballots keep turning up. Trump will sue to stop the horse____ and call for election fraud investigations. The Ds will try to claim a victory, or at least to get him out of office while the counting continues.

Doubt about the election has been established. The Ds point back to this fear-mongering about him refusing to leave office, and call for chaos and revolts.

They may even push it to a constitutional crisis.

(See CIA Color Revolution blueprints.)

The unlawful coup started with illegal spying in the previous campaign, continued with repeated Congressional investigations and fake whistleblowers, and the impeachment debacle. There's no reason to believe they won't try to use the upcoming election in their coup attempts.

I couldn't get past "He'll be wildly ahead on election night".... LOL
And you accuse me of trolling.

You gotta admit it would be funny to see Ricks lock and key at the White House changing locks while Donnie is out getting a Big Mac.

Why are you so sure the mail in ballots will go for Biden?

I doubt either candidate will concede on election night. Both sides will likely go to courts before that happens. Especially if "several boxes of mail in ballots were just discovered in a truck" is still happening 10 days after election day in close states or called states.

I don't think djt wins. But I do think it will be close.

landslides, resounding victories, etc aren't in the foreseeable future.

It absolutely is politically motivated, I'm just saying that it also happens to be IMO the right thing to do (even if for the wrong reasons) and that I personally would applaud a Republican doing the same.
