Worst Class Since?

We likely need Akers and Ray to finish top 15.

No we probably finish 10-12 range with Ray and Akers. We avg. about 10th in rankings right now, so I don't think we fall 6-7 spots especially since we are about to get corker and IMO Akers as well.

Let's wait until these players are at least Juniors before throwing them under the bus.........these are high school kids with athletic ability.........I guess Cam Sutton was a bad pick up

True but Cam's best year was as a freshman. When Terry Fair left he has steadily gotten worse as a D back. Martinez has really hurt his progression.

Using the 247 calculator we would finish 13-14 range by adding those two. Finishing top 10 will likely need an even stronger finish.

Based on the assessment of people paid to evaluate recruits this could be the worst recruiting class we have had since the Kiffin -> Dooley offseason.

I hope I am wrong Trey Smith, Chandler and Gray will hopefully be great but d*mn! We just saw what Jones does with loaded classes, imagine when talent falls off!

I hope you are not raising my children...smmfh

How when we are 11th right now? When I did that it put us in the 6-7 range. Then after that I factored in that other teams will move up as well, so that drops us 6 spots at most IMO. I don't see us finishing below 12th if we get Akers and corker to end. We are top 10 for sure if we end with Corker, Akers, and Ray. I think Ray is a real threat to pull that Tennessee hat out of the bag.

247 composite (which sucks) has our class ranked lower than rivals.

I use Rivals. So do you if I remember correctly.

2016 class wasn't top 10.

and 2014 class will be almost gone when you add those that quit or washed out with those leaving early for draft. I guess it really doesn't matter. Jones couldn't win the East this year with the most talented roster he'll likely ever have here coupled with so many East teams being in rebuilding mode. It's not meant to be. Ready for the next guy but will enjoy Jones' last season or two here as best I can.

We are 11th in large part due to numbers. Looking at the rankings from the last two years is how I came up with that number. Adding those three would likely not be enough for top 10.

Lol, so condescending and so wrong at the same time.

I've never seen that guy bring anything to the board. He must have 50 posts that say "Buy a book about football", but he never actually brings anything at all to the discussion.

If you think classes like this are going to beat the likes of GA, LSU, Bama etc in the future, I would like to sell you some Enron stock and show you some beach front property in Arizona. How do you think we will do it? Out coach them? Magic Dust? Perseverance? Resilency?:eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:

Let me say this. We beat Georgia two years in a row and they have Kirby Smart. LSU hired Ed Orgeron for whatever reason.

I have nothing to say about Bama.

Technically speaking 8-4 with a chance to be 9-4 is better than mediocre. When I think mediocre I think 6-6 7-5. That's an average team.....

Don't kid yourself. 8-4 is absolutely mediocre (at best) when based on your roster talent you were picked number 9 preseason and just about every talking head out there picked UT to win the East.

This should have been Tennessee's year. Instead we lost to USCe and Vandy.

Some of these prospects look like reaches, or head scratching.. Why did you take that commitment so early?. Doubt there are that many diamonds in the rough to be had. It's a depth class at best. Problem is we've seen what we got in front them the last half of the year.

It's the coaching though and everyone knows it. It's not a bad class if someone can coach them. Shake up the staff, he can't do too much. I would expect Debord will be back maybe in a Co- role. We got what we got. Butch got it off the mat, i have serious doubts he can take it much further.

And don't forget you can't count Trey Smith, because ANYONE could have signed the in state 5*.

Jones has closed well every year so far, and expect we will finish strong TY...prob in the 12-15 range...while certainly getting a top 10 rating from some outlier service, so we can point to another top 10 class!!!

You cant count Trey Smith! Why cant we count Trey Smith?

Last year? Will finish top 15 last year was 15th, so yeah last year. So yes I agree with others. Ignorant thread.

15th is not good enough when you do poor job coaching. Butch needs to finish in top 5 every year to ever have a shot at winning the SEC.
