Would Nike/ UA sponsorship help us with recruits?

Its a proven fact that Nike improves your forty time by a tenth of a second. Kinda like how it was a known fact back in 3rd grade that Reebok Pumps made you jump higher.

Nike has many, many teams under contract that have maintained their traditional unis. Its not like the companies send the schools the uniforms and the schools have to deal with it.

The suggestion of UA is what I was alluding to.

Sports Belle made the jerseys during the Nike heyday.

I think UT was loyal to Sports Belle because of Condrege Holloway. Not sure of his position, but we worked for SB and I'm sure help secure that deal.

The Best Players WANT the Best equipment, and that's hands down NIKE! I do agree with the post above, NIKE has sometimes gone too far with designs and uniforms (Kentucky... just look at Oregon)! But as an athlete, this WOULD play a role in my decision process of where I would play ball. I saw a video with Sam Montgomery at the UA All-American Game where they are boarding the Official Under Armour Bus, and they are greeted with a big Texas Tech Floor mat! Don't think for a second the UA won't use Maryland, Texas Tech, and the other UA schools to sell their brand. And Tennessee plays the wrong type of football to use adidas as a selling point!

I've said it before to no avail, but I think going with Nike and getting a Nike Camp at UT would be a free recruiting visit for a large number of potential recruits. It would be a huge benefit for UT.

Bill has a HUGE Point! ALL the Big NIKE schools host a NIKE camp each summer! USC, Florida, Miami, Texas, Etc. You want 5 Star athletes... look at the attendees of these camps, Esp at the QB position!!

Since you put it that way, nike it is!

well, Peyton couldn't beat Florida with Nike shoes or Adidas. But he won a Super Bowl with Reeboks.

I think we have our answer. Just get Adidas to let us use their Reebok brand.

Yeah, that free recruiting trip sure impressed Aaron Murray to go to Florida....

Oh wait....

so because Aaron Murray didn't go to Florida, you're discounting the fact that the nation's top recruits come to the Nike Camp and getting to see UT's campus and facilities without using an official visit wouldn't benefit UT?

Doesn't Boston College wear Adidas? Last time I checked they were losing to Vandy.

We don't need to wear Reebok. No offense to Peyton but he won't be doing any cutting at high speed any time soon.

who cares about speed if you're winning?

also, if you really think I was serious about the Reebok thing because Peyton won a Super Bowl in them, there's no way you should be out of the 7th grade.

I heard that this was the last year of our Adidas contract, so there could be a chance that we switch to something else but I highly doubt it. I would love to see us with that Nike swoosh on everything, Adidas sucks.
