Yesterday could not have gone any worse for Tennessee

You could tell Beck was really hurt. Georgia obviously does not have a QB # 3. They may exit quickly in the playoffs.

Seriously, our fanbase gets greedy as hell so fast. There is no enjoyment of anything by so many. After the loss in Athens we were just hoping to sneak back in. We were one of a handful of teams going into the weekend knowing we were in, but the Legion is on to the next thing to piss and moan about.
Great points. We got several breaks just to get in and I’m quite pleased. And I believe with our defense and running game, we can hang with any team in the playoff anywhere we play. Also it seemed the light was coming on for Nico toward the end of the season and that’s a plus. Just need to limit turnovers and penalties and we can make a run.

Wrong, it could have gone worse. If SMU had gotten blown out, Bama would have remained in. St least with its comeback, SMU has a valid claim to stay in which boots Bama out.
If Bama gets booted, I don't care how the rest of it shakes out, because THAT is the right thing. Gump doesn't belong, and if they get in, this tournament is no better than the other failed experiments at college championship

We were always going to have to play on the road, it was just a matter of where. The CFP committee was never going to seed us higher than 9th. I'm of the opinion that most of those jackwagons on the committee would boot us completely if they could get away with it. This team just needs go beat the hell out of whoever they put them with, period.

He threw for like 75 yards and a pick.., don’t get carried away lol.
Beck has struggled this year but when he’s hot he’s a top 3 qb in the league- Stockton can’t do to us what Beck did against us.

After Texas reacted to Stockton, he became just a QB to hand off to their running back. He is not that good.

As much as I hate to admit, UGA earned the bye. They played an extra game and won it and they are conference champs. Not without a lot of help from the zebras, but they are none the less.

Clemson played their way in, just the rules. If that keeps Bama out, that's just right for college football and some justice being served. No way Bama should be in after getting that ass kicked at Norman late in the season. I am not confident the committee will exclude Bama though, which is a travesty to the integrity of the sport.

The problem that I have with Ohio State is that Tennessee might have to play there. I think UT should be ranked higher at this point. Ohio State did play better and probably should have won at Oregon, but I think it was the first game, or close to the first game of the season. They do have the win over Penn State and that's huge. I do think they should get bumped below UT for their loss at home to average/below average Michigan.

I would have Ohio State playing in Knoxville, just based on the last games of the season.....

If Tennessee were looking for any help to make them look better in the eyes of the committee that door has been slammed shut.

Not only did Georgia win, but the game went to overtime. The committee will see this as "very competitive" even though both teams kind of sucked and I think Tennessee could have beaten either on on Saturday.

Also Pedophile State didn't get blown out by Oregon and will now be assured a home game.

And finally worthless trash Clemson now gets into the playoffs putting us in direct competition with yet another team. So the final seeding will most likely look like this with Tennessee going on the road.

Seed
1. Oregon
2. Georgia
3. Boise St
4. Arizona St
5. Notre Dame
6. Texas
7. Penn St
8. Ohio St
9. Tennessee
10. Indiana
11. SMU
12.Clemson

I don't really know about 10-12 or whether Bama gets in because it doesn't really concern Tennessee other than do they rank Clemson ahead of Tennessee because they won the conference which is totally an argument someone on that dumb committee will try and make.

So if you are a fan of things being absolutely as difficult as possible for Tennessee you'll probably be getting your wish. I just hope they can hold their own or win against OSU before getting squashed by Oregon.

Worse? How Bad? Just get into the field is the first objective. Get wins and advance. Earn it don't expect a cake walk or you are fooling yourself. Anything can happen?
We are in that is what matters, to many look at the past games to predict the future...
Every Team will change its colors several times during the season due to injuries, mistakes, officiating and team disruptions. We are moving forward.
I don't see a team in this field that we cannot beat.
Backwards thinking is a detriment to this team and fan base.

I'm a fan of Tennessee being in the playoffs and with the way we've played at times this year, we should probably consider ourselves fortunate.

All this hand wringing over the seeds, who loses, by how much, will they drop below us, will we host a game, etc., etc., so forth and so on is silly and a waste of time.

We're in, so if we pull it together and put an end to bonehead mistakes, we have as good a shot as anyone. Relax and be happy...

GO VOLS! 😎👍

We missed up their narrative - the push all year was Geogia, Texas, Bama and Ole Miss. Ole Miss took care of Georgia, Georgia took care of Texas, the state of Tennessee took care of Bama along with help from our friends in Oklahoma and Florida took care of Ole Miss. Plus because of all this when Indiana lost they had to drop them below us - I know they hated that with a passion.

And we are not getting squashed by Oregon if we get past OSU. Oregon is not the team I thought they were.

Penn State could’ve won that game yesterday. They made a ton of mistakes and still only lost by 8. Oregon’s weakness is their DBs, if we ended up playing them, and our receivers came to play, we could burn them deep.

Tennessee is just as capable as anyone else of winning it all if they come to play.

I don't care what happens to Bama.

I do care whether the committee will rank the teams based on the strength of the team or just based on # wins. If they continue to rank based on the # wins, the SEC needs to reduce the number of SEC games next year, let the teams schedule more cupcakes to bolster the number of wins each team has per year so the SEC can end up with a bunch of 11-1, 12-0 teams.

This exactly. Reduce the SEC schedule to six games and schedule cupcake P4 teams and G5's with the other six.

Well, for some reason the selection show today is 4 hours long. They have plenty of time to drag it out and talk about all these scenarios

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I won't watch a second of it. Not sure how anyone could listen to that tripe for an hour, much less four.

So this whole Georgia scenario never seemed like the most logical chance for us to move up—or let’s face it—down to play a higher seeded team at home—which is what I would rather happen. With 2 of the most unproven teams in the playoffs and the most teams in the playoff period, it seems that the Big 10 should be starting out with two of their teams playing each other for a rematch. They were looking at pitting GA against TN, so why not PSU against OSU? Tennessee should be hosting Indiana. Clemson should be playing Notre Dame. Texas should be hosting SMU. How that looks from a seeding perspective, I could care less. They don’t seed according to rankings anyways. Basically this gives the highest ranked conference champions their bye. Pits the lowest ranked conference champion against the highest ranked non conference opponent. Puts the conference with the most teams in that did not go to their conference championship against each other. Pits two losers of conference championship games against each other which is the best against the worst like you have in the NCAA, and then the two highest REMAINING (with Penn St and OSU being booked) ranked non conference championship contender teams against each other. (Tenn and Indiana).

May wanna fact check

What are you talking about? Who is unhappy about UT being in the playoff? The only pissing and moaning I see are those obsessed with Alabama.

It's a discussion about the playoff on a forum designed for ... discussions.

Thrilled we are in the CFP...great way for this team to extend an already great season.

Where ever we travel for Round 1, I hope it's an early game...give me that 3pm Saturday slot. Heupels record on the road at night is not good.
