Zach Rogers

4.47 is pretty fast considering it was laser timed. He'll have to put on some weight to play SS, but if he's as athletic as his high school achievements indicate he'll play somewhere. Somebody on GVX said his 100m time was faster than Coker's. There we're also some people on there that actually watched the games objectively. I was starting to think I imagined AR dropping all those balls.

I didnt mean it in any way to bash Zach, I just think we should focus more on DT's than wideouts. We are pretty set for the next couple of years at wideouts but we are dirt poor at DT. CHILL OUT!!!

regardless of why you said it...it's a dumb comment. And I can guarantee you we are not finished recruiting talented WR's for the next couple of years. We do need DT's...but that is a totally different topic.

Zach won't be a wideout here most likely,. he'll be a safety.

I wish people would realize that we have 3 juco d-linemen ready to come in and play(just have to wait till 2009) and a very good chance at a 4th, and I'm certain we are going to get 2-3 more d-linemen before it's over with. What I'm trying to say is, don't said we don't need to pursue a prospect just because y'all are worried about a position that will be filled(with decent prospects) in time.

I once thought Z Rogers would definitely be a S too. Now I'm not so sure. He's one of the fastest athletes in Tn right now and according to GVX posted the fastest forty at a recent Nike Camp @ Athens.

No. The objective folks realize his drops have been blown out of proportion and his catches have been diminished as if they were insignificant. He dropped some balls but he was also the victim of Ainge's near panic to get rid of the ball a few times.

The objective folks note that he had the best season a UT Sophomore WR has had in awhile.

That said, I think he'll have a down season this year as Clawson will need to get the ball to Jones and others more.

Thank you!!!! I've been trying to say for weeks that we don't need to panic about d-line. We have people coming in and we should have no problem recruiting more after recruits get to see the new coaching staff in action. I know that they are offensive coaches but a potent offense will help with defensive recruiting.

I think at least my worry isn't that we are going to get worse at Dline necessarily, it's that we might not get better. Dline is our weakness now, and it's usually a strength for us, and we're having trouble wining without it. We need to get consistently better to win the SEC, but I agree, I hope you're right, and that we clean up in the future.

This kid is as fast as they come ! I coached against him in a state semifinal game. He is fast as they come. He is also a beast on the track in the 100 and 200. He is fast as they come !

I read an article recently where Rogers posted the fastest 40 time in a Nike camp he went to in Georgia. His time was 4.47 sec using some kind of laser timing. He has apparently been clocked running a sub 4 sec forty using a stop watch. I think he ran a 10.8 sec 100-meter in the State Championships. To compare that, the freshman running back for California Jahvid Best that had fun running on us last year ran a 10.4 sec 100-meter and that was like the fastest time in the state of CA last year. So, apparently Rogers is pretty fast.

Compare that to Demps at 10.18, hes as fast as they come! =(

But seriously Rogers is fast but that and $8 will get you a gallon of gas. Can he catch the ball when he needs to? Will he short arm it across the middle? Hell Leonard Scott was fast but he was useless. I just want to know if the kid will make the catches he needs to or can he play good defense. Apparently hes fast, but is that all he is?

Demps and the kid down at LSU are world class sprinters. Still over a 100 yd sprint .6 seconds equates to about 5 yds.

Demps would probably be better off running track and avoiding the risks of injury.

Rogers is a football player. A damn good one too. I watched him play last year and he is one of the best that I personally saw. He isnt very shifty but he is tough (like is older brother), intelligent, fast, and is very savy on the football field.

David Lipscomb won the Music City 7 on 7 Saturday beating MBA in the finals. They also beat last years champ Hillsboro(E. Gordon) and Springdale, Arkansas on their way. Rogers was MVP.
