Is there any real doubt? The only reason he would go somewhere else is if we have stopped recruiting him. This should come out later tonight somewhere, it usually does.

I heard there was some talk going around that he committed today. Guess that wasn't the case but I agree he's close.

Akiem Hicks is in CA at JUCO. Other than that, I don't really know of any big time prospects we are after in CA. The same thing happened with Stokes when he committed. All the talk of swaying PA guys to UT and nothing happened with it. It helps, but it doesn't guarantee anything.

David Lipscomb is playing my son's high school team Friday night. I will keep up with Zach's stats and give you my impression of the kid for what it's worth.

I've seen him play.

he would be a great player at Austin Peay, UTM, TSU, ect....very good at Memphis, Tulane, Southern Miss....just another body at UT.

Lipscomb has a great program and he is a great player, but not SEC worthy. JMO!

That is the impression I get from what i have read. If we do get the pass offense rolling in a year or two every team has use of a possession receiver, a role he could play. I'll watch and see if he strikes me one way or the other.

Do you think he would be better suited at safety? Hope that having stone hands (Austin) isn't a family trait.

He's ok. You must not have seen many others play. He is not an SEC player. IMO. He should go to a Mid level D1 school and play and have fun or go to a 1AA school and dominate. He will ride the pine at UT.

I hope I'm wrong. I know he runs a 4.41 40. But so does 80% of the skill players in the SEC.

Zach is an excellent football player. From what I have seen, he is definately an SEC player. He is a better athlete than his brother but will probably play safety. The main knock that I have heard on his is that he has stiff hips, but other than that, he should make an excellent safety.

Thanks, I'll watch tonight. Our team has nowhere near the talent they have but we are a very physical option team. I will get a good idea of where he is at as far as run support goes.

I watched him play Friday night and was less than impressed. He dropped two passes he should have caught. He did score on a reverse play that in no way shape or form should have been a TD (missed tackles and bad angles). He was not really a factor in run support, he got run over twice, once by a running back who weighed 20 pounds less than him, and once by a fullback (he got trucked on that hit). He did have one solid tackle where he took our TE's feet out from under him but that was about it.

lol did any of you watch him in the State Championship game. He tore it up against a much better team. Can't judge a player off of one game.
