‘18 QB Grad Transfer Keller Chryst (UT commit 3/1/18)

Think JG will transfer he doesn't like to compete.

It wouldn't make sense for him to transfer, he'd have to sit out a year regardless if Chryst is starting or he leaves. At least if he stays, he'd learn the system and already be familiar with the other players.

I don't think so...but, you never know...

Ideally, I hope JG has matured some and really buys into the whole process thing...he has talent, but that's just a portion of what we need to compete every Saturday in the SEC...

People naturally follow leaders....talented or not...

Stanford offense usually isn’t too bad on QBs. I’m a fan of him for depth but as far as this starter to elevate an offense I can’t see it. He had a good coach, offensive line and a great RB. How do you not keep the starting position?

Ideally he pushes JG to be better and ends up helping him as the season goes along.

He would then have to beat out another Pruitt/Helton hand picked QB in Shrout. Coaches might lose confidence in him if he doesn't since he's going into his third year at UT. JG needs to win the job now.

Whether that be a real question or not, the real enigma is why did he choose here of all places for his final season knowing he could be an instant starter somewhere else? He knows he has a legitimate shot at being the starter here based on talent, experience, and roster. I'm not saying he's better than JG but there's nothing that JG has that makes me believe he is the clear starter.

IMO, JG starts and struggles then Keller comes in and wins the job.

Not arguing I am an unapologetic hater of the spread option. I still believe Dobbs was a special player and made up for the system's shortcomings.

Oh I hate it too but there is a reason it is so prevalent in the college game. Now the pros are all about the read option.
