1 Oregon vs. California

Absolutely. Tedford had all sorts of dumb mistakes. Burning all his TO's early in the second half of a close game. Declining the holding call which kept the clock running.

But still... if Oregon doesn't put Tedford in a position where he needs to chase points by going for 2... It's 14-14.

2 Points Converted. Won by 2. It's that simple.

The declining of the holding call was straight up retarded. Oregon can get 3 yards a carry, and don't care if it's 4th down. 3 and 5 won't cut it. On top of the clock issue.

Lyls, it really isn't worth it. The guy is hanging around another team's board that his team won't play again for 2 years, salivating at this caress with greatness. Just let him have his moment, even if he is having it in a rather awkward place.

I have a strong feeling Oregon won't be able to finish this title run.

Thanks for setting me straight, good sir.

I'm in an Around the NCAA Forum. I date a girl that did her first 2 years at UT, so I keep an eye on UT football as well. But am I a Vol fan? Not really, no. I was born and raised a Duck, so I rep my colors while I'm here. I also post on UO boards, too.

Sorry if I have the audacity to point out the obvious. We went for 2 and won by 2.

Tedford had plenty of bonehead calls, definitely agree on the declining the holding call. And burning the time outs early proved extremely costly down the stretch.

Missed field goal by Cal? Big. Sure. So was Oregon's 2 point conversion. I feel like that was the difference in the game but you could easily argue so was Jeff Maehl's catch... and Harris's punt return... and the bad calls... you could go on and on.

10-0 is 10-0 though.

I fail to see how going for two is a bad move when it's almost a sure thing. We are not Lane Kiffen and USC, where we go for two and fail half the time, just so we can rub our noses at you.

Oregon has not failed on a 2-pt conversion in the last two seasons. Cover everyone correctly and we will just kick the XP. No wait, maybe we won't! In this game the 2-pt conversion was the reason the Ducks won and the Bears lost. Games like this detract from your theory that it's stupid to go for two just because it's the second quarter. It's not stupid if you are sure you can get it.

LMAO...

If Tennessee had beat Oregon, I'd guarantee that you would not be posting here. Do you hang out in the Boise State forums? I don't think so.

But he brings objectivity from an opposing fan base. Wait, wait...I was thinking of someone else.

I merely pointed out that we went for 2, got it, and won by 2. Later they chased points as a result of the call and missed a conversion. Thus you could reasonably argue that was the key moment in the game.

If you want to say I have no right to be here... fine. I was just trying to talk football. Apparently that's frowned upon in an "Around the NCAA Forum"

Football is in no way similar to battle. Ever.

I wasn't comparing football to battle. I was comparing what you said to what the British said.

People are expecting Kelly's arrogant ass to do this since he seems to do it almost every week.

Since he has succeeded every time, they aren't doing a good job of stopping it and he should continue.

I have a strong feeling Oregon won't be able to finish this title run.

Are you sure that feeling isn't the result of a bad cheeseburger?

It may have been a bad call. Though, to assume that it was more consequential to the outcome of the game than another call that came earlier is Oklahoma logic.

Give UT fans some credit.

Jesus Christ, I'm so sick of the flying V of ducks that circle this forum like highly organized buzzards.

Why post on a Vol board so much? I know there are duck message boards. You know, where you actually have something in common with other posters.

I originally posted a lot on this board during the Brown recruiting saga. Then, our teams played. So, we had something in common during those times.

I don't post here as much any more. But, I have grown to like UT as a program and fan base. So, when I'm looking for SEC perspective on the latest going ons, this site has been my first stop.

I believe that I still do have something in common with quite a few UT fans just in being interested in programs and conferences outside of the one I follow most. I could be wrong. But, it seems to me that there arent many UT fans that are upset about having other fans post on the forum.

It's not that..it's just that a new Oregon fan pops up everyday..I mean where have you guys been?

Oregon's exposed?

:lolabove:

A win's a win. We're 10-0 with 2 left. That's all that matters.

And I don't know about Cal's kicker losing it for them...

The 2 point won it for us. That and the stop when they went for 2.

People want to blame Cal's kicker? I don't buy it. Oregon had the ball on their 19. Dead center of the field with a minute to go and ran the clock out.

If Cal's kicker made that kick... we'd have likely (no guarantee but it would have been a chip shot) hit the game winner as time expired. 18-16, Oregon.

Yea, the Ducks were definitely exposed, and I'm being serious.

The offense scored one TD, and that was after they were given a short field due to a Vareen(?) fumble. I don't know how, but Cal figured out Oregon's offense much like Ohio State did in January.

Last nights game shouldn't have been close. At all. Cal was starting an inexperienced QB who couldn't hit the side of a barn. They should've feasted on Mansion. And I can't attribute the poor play to playing at Cal. Ducks fans were there in mass and seemed to be just as loud as Cal fans at some points during the game.

I don't care about Chip going for two if he makes it. But going for it on 4th down on your side of the field is flat out retarded. I mean really, it doesn't make the slightest bit of sense. This is aint Madden.

Oregon was just bad last night. They were lucky to be playing Cal.

I'm confused Bumi I thought you were a gator fan???? Oh well to each his own lol

I am.

I think I'm about to just drop the icons all together. People take them too literal.

Oh ok I see. Well now when it comes to college football I'm a one team man and that's the big orange & I ALWAYS pull for the sec. But in other sports I pull for at least two teams like Atlanta and Boston in baseball, the titans and packers in the NFL

The most important is who in hell cares what a bunch of oregon quacks think on here? Just seems illogical to infest these parts.

Haven't seen many Oregon folks on here besides myself, wheaton, NightOwl and Bumi, I don't know what this talk of is of Oregon fans "coming out of the woodwork."

I always thought this was one of the better forums out there when it came to having fans from other schools aboard, hence the ability to tag up to three of your favorite teams.

Guess I was wrong. Who would have thought creating a game thread for Oregon-Cal and then discussing it would be so frowned upon?

Well zenitram this is the way I see it, it's a free country but I don't like to see other fan bases infest our message board I don't care how nice they are. If your not all vol GTFO.
It's like me showing up at a kkk rally lol maybe that's a bad comparison but that's just my opinion lol

The problem with Cal is there's no "hope" factor. It's like you guys have plateaued under Tedford.

I'd argue the program is going downhill. The fans don't get it. One actually argued this was one of the greatest performances in Cal history. Pathetic losers.

I don't know about greatest in history. But, they did play Oregon better than any other opponent this season. Better than Stanford and USC did. Should mean something.
