Doubt it. Really don’t think SC has the put away ability. That freshman class is going to see fewer than 10 minutes. They do not play well and haven’t gotten enough minutes in the non-con to improve. Hard to imagine she’ll be able to play them much in the SEC. Lots of tough teams they won’t be getting any passes.
Cardoso will play more in the SEC but so far she has not shown any ability to play with the physicality required in this league. Stanford is a very physical team and she couldn’t play with them. Was out there for five minutes maybe and got blocked twice and scored on 3 times.
Tennessee is a better team than last season. We could be undefeated if we hadn't missed 13 free throws in the Stanford game. Key got in early foul trouble and only played 16 minutes. We won the 16 minutes she played by a large margin and lost big the 24 minutes she did not play. If Rae gets back were a legitimate challenge for the final four. As stands I can see us getting to the sweet sixteen and maybe the elite 8. We may have the freshman of the year on our team she is certainly a candidate. We haven't seen the best play of Alexus Dye although she has been coming on of late. I certainly expect Sc to win the SEC if they don't get covid and have to forfeit some games, but Tennessee is certainly a contender and totally believe we will finish in the top four again this season.
Like I said at least provide some facts to the statements you’ve made. They haven’t played that much because the Schedule has been a top 25 team every week. No other freshmen in the country has had to endure that. Also you’re naming teams that don’t have a punchers chance of winning the SEC. Folks like to throw out “ Any given night any team can lose” but facts are the facts and the fact of this matter is SC is 30-2 in the last two season in the SEC. We also forget to mention the fact that SC has won the Tournament 6 out of the last 7 years. Of those teams mentioned only A&M and UT beat SC in that time and neither are as good as they were last year. Georgia and LSU has been playing very well and that’s why I listed those teams as the toughest challengers to SC. Take it for what it’s worth SC isn’t unbeatable, but it’s hard for me to see any of these offensive ridden teams in the SEC beating them, especially after juggernauts UConn and Stanford couldn’t even after attaining sizable leads.
UT could join the two I named when Rae comes back. With her they are a much different team, without her not so much.
Better players who want to transfer need to be watching this season very closely. Sure it looks like a great idea to jump on a loaded team.
But don’t you want to PLAY basketball while you’re in college? Lol.
Lots of players likely sitting and thinking really hard about the choices they made. I think we’ll start seeing some really, really talented players choosing schools you might not expect. Schools with young coaches and lots of minutes available.
Arizona is another team, they are so deep at the guard spot. Players like Love wenters some credit from being the main option to breaking the rotation. Paris Clark is going to do a lot of sitting for two seasons she likely doesn’t expect. Barnes has also shown she’ll take anybody and recruit right over good players that have signed with her. Just like Geno and Cori Close.
Kids aren’t stupid. They see that too. That’s why Clark recommitted from UCLA so was surprised to see her choose a coach who is likely to do the same thing to her. If something better comes along Adia will bite.
Something I’m learning to admire about Kellie. She seems most interested in improving and maintaining the roster she has. Not looking for the next best thing every 5 seconds.
‘So you’re saying Kellie would have turned down Cardosa had she wanted to come to Tennessee? You think Kellie doesn’t recruit players better than what she already has purposely? So if a #1 recruit wants to come to UT she won’t take her because she would be better than what you already have? I don’t believe that. Give these players some credit. They know what they signed up for. Kamilla messed up going to Syracuse because they didn’t develop her. She played enough to get ROY but have you watched her actually play? She needs a lot of development and she will get to play more when SC plays a lesser team.

Nowhere in my post did I mention Cardoso?
I do believe Kellie would have had her in a heartbeat. I also believe she’d be playing 20+ minutes in big games. Kellie spreads the love.
The point of my post was that Kellie seems committed to developing the young women she has on her roster. Both as players and people. She’s committed to retaining players and having a positive culture. We’ve avoided the transfer bug pretty well in an era where it is commonplace. That isn’t by accident.
Anyone else find it strange Darth has been catching heat and suddenly there are two or three “new” posters defending him?
Because I do. Also find it comical.
It should be obvious to everyone that Darth, PG1 and now their new clones are here only to sabotage Tennessee. They are CT fans, posing. It’s a tactic so vile, so contemptible that it can ONLY be coming from them.
Editing to say their posts also remind me of a couple of old posters from the early days of the SUmmiTT board. Anyone remember elvee and LVJeff? There were a couple of others. They also remind me of ucbart and Philster from the old boneyard. Don’t know if either of them are still around. Ha!
They aren't UConn fans, because a UConn fan wouldn't bother to watch their games and know as much details about the team. Bart still posts on the BY from time to time. Remember the name Philster, but not the posting style.
I don't remember Darth on the Summitt, but I do remember elvee...who I believe was a woman. Not Jeff either, since he had his own handle here. I think that Darth used to be a LV fan who turned sour with the Holly and then Kellie hirings. I remember arguing with him about Holly, but stopped when it ended up he was right. I just skip over most of his backhanded compliments, but every now and then he posts something interesting or spot on.
He's been doing this too long not to have some history as a fan of the program.
If you are referencing me as being one of those you are absolutely wrong on both counts......I am an old head on this site and me criticizing anyone calling out a poster for labelling them a negavol is not a defense of anyone....it is merely calling it what it is, an attack with name calling which is uncalled for.Anyone else find it strange Darth has been catching heat and suddenly there are two or three “new” posters defending him?
