'10 CA QB Chase Rettig

Rettig is my favorite. Once we offer this guy a scholly, he will commit. Then the WR's and OL's will follow.

No. People have said the same thing for Brunetti and countless others and it simply hasn't happened... only wishful thinking.

I'm not saying that I don't want that to happen, but from my experiences following recruiting the past few years, it won't happen.

I think we are wrong when we assume if we offer a player, they will commit. But as far as a QB attracting offensive recruits, it is true. Heaps is a prime example. I don't think the Sooners would be #1 on Prater's list if Bell wasn't there either...

Seems to me that these many of the kids develop a relationship with each other throughout the recruiting process. That is the case with Ambles and Brunetti. One of the more interesting analyses on Brunetti is that he has certain leadership quality. Players during camp gravitated towards him.

"I feel like this is what I need to do," Rettig said. "No one has offered, so I want to try and get to as many places as I can to be seen. I really liked Tennessee a lot and had a great time there. I'm just working hard and hopefully something will happen soon and I think some stuff is going to come in for me soon here.”

I don't believe Rettig would commit on the spot, but he's clearly taking a proactive path in his campaign to earn some offers.

Rivals 6/12

Tennessee is my favorite right now. I'm open to any school, but I feel like they would be a good fit for me.

He'll visit Arizona State, UNC and Boston College in the coming weeks and is also hopeful to visit USC for camp.

I have to admit, I didn't really know much about Rettig until I watched the youtube video. I have to say, I was impressed. Sounds like we could have him if we want him too. Yeah, he don't have any offers, but all his schools of interest are big time schools. I noticed on the youtube video he also has a 3.6 GPA. What really caught my eye was the quote at the first of the video on the bottom of the screen.

"Chase boasts the strongest arm in California if not the entire Country."

Wow! That is a strong statement.

Rettig told Rob Lewis that he's staying in touch with the staff and now it looks like he'll know where he stands after Scroggins' visit.

Everything is going to really get going after the Scroggins visit. I bet they will push Scroggins to make a commitment so hard.

I believe that Scroggins is the coaches #1 target @ QB and they are waiting until after June 18 to see where they stand with him. I'm surprised that Burnitti has received an offer and Rettig has not. I still say that Scroggins and Rettig would be the two best QB signs for Tennessee in this class!

I predict that Rettig will get an offer after June 18. The coaches will have a good feel for where they stand with Scroggins after this next camp. Rettig was impressive @ the earlier camp. I still think that Brunetti goes elsewhere if Scroggins committs to UT.

IMO Scroggins is the key to the puzzle of what happens next in many ways. The staff would love to pull both Scroggins and Brunetti.

Scenarios:
-Scroggins commits, Brunetti goes elsewhere, Rettig gets offer and commits and we are done with QBs

- Scroggins commits, Brunetti does as well, and Retting is left outside looking in

-Scroggins doesnt commit and leaves staff with impression he is going elsewhere, Brunetti commits, and Retting gets scholly and commits as well.

-Scroggins doesn't commit but gives coaches idea that he is heavily leaning our way...then we wait and see what Brunetti does and hope Scroggins still comes if he doesnt Retting gets the go ahead

this one sounds more feasible than the other ones.

Don't foget Hendrix, he just said it's down to UT and ND. He said those are the only 2 visits he'll take before he cimmits. It's gonna get interesting here in the next week or two.

Think about Montana, the kid that committed to ASU, Heaps, etc. Scroggins will chsse UT. UF is pretty deep even thought the chances of another NC is appealing. I think Scroggins would rather write his own ticket and be apart of something special here at UT. That's what got the others from the '09 class here like Nuke and Teague. Gotta love or chances.

I'm feeling it! Scroggins to Tennessee in three weeks! We will also get Rettig. Hendrix will choose ND. Brunetti goes to PSU.

Just don't see why Brunetti hasn't chose us yet.His favorite team one of the first to give him any interest.

This one is the one I like the most....Scroggins has mobility, pocket presence, and play-making ability for a pro-style and Rettig has a huge arm and great potential for our system. Brunetti is undoubtedly a great QB that I'd love to see stay in state, but he would be better off in a spread. Those two would be my ideal choices.

If he was "TRULY AN ORANGE BLOODED VOL" and a fan all his life, this decision would be a no brainer. He's holding out because he knows the staff really wants Scroggins now and he's the back up plan. He won't come to UT if Scroggins commits to the Vols. He won't go to PSU, nor MSU. Probably will be a Reb.
