I am not sure why, but I feel really uneasy about Brunetti. If he is a Vol, I hope he proves me wrong, but I really like Rettig and Scroggins. Rettig reminds me of a Mark Sanchez....huge arm, nice size, seems like a smart kid, & the CA connection. I wouldn't mind one bit if he was a Vol! Scroggins is just a pure athlete that happens to play QB...very well. Either one of those guys, and I am happy.

Dont see that happening with them also signing Paul Jones in this class. I bet Brunetti ends up at Ole Miss or OSU (if they offer him).

Scroggins is a pass first QB, but what QB isn't a Scrambler when the pass protection breaks down? The type of QB I think you are talking about is an option style QB. Or someone that runs designed run plays. Scroggins isn't that type. The roll of the QB is to MOVE THE CHAINS. Positive yards weither it be passing or runnin for positive yds, while protecting the ball and managing the Offense. Any QB can drop back to pass, some can even get out of trouble and make a play down field be it running or passing. Some are slow with cement shoes and can't do nothing with it once they drop back. Which QB do you want?

Will people please get over Boyd for the love of god. He fried his knee(I believe) but still get over it. The past is past. Maybe when Kiff met him Boyd seemed like a uneducated player and was just an athlete. Maybe he was unable to be a field general. Also I am sure Kiffin wants to get a Kid who will be drafted one day for being a NFL style QB. Boyd will be a low draft, if even drafted, player. vince young, Vick, Pat White, Alex Smith. All of them will never be quality QB's. Sorry.

Scroogins is not one of these players listed above. He is a Qb with quick feet. He is no Boyd so please stop saying we should get him.

I want Tennessee to sign Scroggins, but I also want UT to sign Rettig. I believe these two players will be a great fit @ Tennessee!!!

Boyd's knee will be fine for 2010 which is when we would have needed him. Why people keep bringing up the knee I have no idea. It wasn't even a serious injury.

As far as those QB's you named, they all had pretty good college careers and were drafted high (all but Pat White in the top 3 picks.) and are making bookoos of money now. We don't give a crap about how they do in the NFL. We want them for college. A generally poor post on every level.

Not really. After watching some tape of him I think he is really a strong prospect. I can't understand why he doesn't have any offers. And really, I don't care because the coaches have seen something they like and if they offer then I will trust their assessment.

Hey Sab... why do you think Rettig doesn't have any offers? Is it because he just hasn't had his name out there as much as some of the other QBs or is there an underlying factor maybe? It is just curious that he doesn't have ANY offers...

Sab, I realize they are in the NFL and are making money but they are not starting and will never start. When you sell a program you dont sell bench warmers.

I think Rettig transferred to another HS, after Soph season. Looks like maybe he had to sit out his Junior season. If so, that would probably explain it.

maybe because a torn ACL is a serious knee injury and it takes a while to get back to 100%.

I am. I've been trying to point this fact out for the past couple of weeks. I don't know why he doesn't have any offers, but there is definitely a reason. All the teams out west (Cal, ASU, Wash, Stanford) went hard for QBs, and they all have chosen a QB over him. UCLA doesn't have a QB yet, but it doesn't look like they are pursuing him too hard. Don't get me wrong, I like Rettig alot, but something isn't right here...

Because the lack of Offers is scary for a "TOP" QB

It isn't like Rettig just burst on to the scene like Hendrix did. People have known about Chase for a while. I remember reading stuff on the recruiting sites about him quite a while ago...

But I agree about his tape. He has a rocket. The only criticism I can find of him is that he overthrows the recievers sometimes cuz he puts his whole body into his throw. I'd like to hear someone's (who is legit) opinion on why no schools have offered. From his latest story and vid on Rivals, Mike Farrell seems to be confused as well...
