Just curious, what ever happened to HV and VolinArizona? Weren't both of those guys also recruiting mods?

I wouldnt freak out about a kid that the staff was split on and very iffy about...i don't think it was the talent part as much as maybe the mental makeup/x and o's

would have been nice to have a Qb but hard to pull em without proff in the pudding....If crompton has a good year kids can start visualizing how they fit in the Kiffin Offense and start thinking harder about the Vols....I actually think we still have Scroggins but if we dont its not the end of the world

I don't think that is quite right...

According to him, he spoke to Bryce on the phone... so he was the inside source.

He went out on a limb and gave out information that he thought was correct. No different than any of us doing the same thing. He can come across as an ass from time to time, but we are really no different from him. He just puts himself out there too much, IMO. I'm not going to pile on him because he has had some good info in the past and is pretty well connected with certain people and players.

No more high profile one's left. Kind of why I wanted us to hedge our bets (offer much earlier than we did and let the Scroggins sweepstakes run its own course) after Jesse pushed his announcement date back to late this month, instead of a week or two after the USC camp, like most expected (he even said so himself when interviewed at our camp...that he was ready to end this whole thing and USC made him wait, that he would like decide within the week, etc).

We put all of our eggs into Jesse's basket and now we are at a high risk of losing him too. So we'll probably get chit on by him after his lengthy delay cost us a handful of other prospects. Par for the course it seems. :hmm:

This situation is the only tim I can say that I think this new staff has "dropped the ball". Not getting a QB recruit for a 3rd straight year would be pathetic.

rumor floating around that they changed his offer and pissed him off...Prob. complete BS because it doesnt make sense at all.

Waiting as long as possible to extend an offer. And I highly doubt we would even consider accepting that offer until Jesse Scroggins commits. The main point is that a recruit Kiffin wasn't all that interested in choosing another school isn't exactly a kick in the balls.

Bottom line is...Jesse strung us out, and put the staff between a rock and a hard place, with his delay until July 25th.

He knows damn well all the top QB's are G-O-N-E by then! THAT is what pisses me off here. If he wants his fanny wired to the bench at the Coliseum for the next 3+yrs...that's fine. But it's late in the 4th quarter here for QB recruits. Jesse wants to make us sit on our hands until the buzzer goes off, waiting to see what he decides.
That puts a staff in our predicament in an untenable position. Once BC offered Rettig, we should have immediately done the same, and just be willing to let the chips fall where they may. Better to come away with a QB that is roughly on par with Scroggins, than to wait and be totally empty-handed...as Jesse is apparently about to do.

I'm just getting ready, and rehearsing my "Go Barkley-Keep Jesse's @$$ on the bench for 4yrs" dance...want to see it?...here it goes...

As I said before, the staff has a choice. They don't have to wait around for Scroggins before offering a guy that can at least be a #2 option in this class. It's not Jesse's fault that we have screwed up QB recruiting so royally this year.
