He said he was going to decide within a week after our camp. That meant a few days after the USC camp. His pushing it back til all the other good options are off the board puts this staff in a real bind. It forces them to almost abandon him. So, if he chooses USC, he not only abandons us, but his little waiting game also costs us some good options. As I said before, the staff has a choice. They don't have to wait around for Scroggins before offering a guy that can at least be a #2 option in this class. It's not Jesse's fault that we have screwed up QB recruiting so royally this year.
Dude, it's July. Jesse has until February to make a decision. It's the coaches' jobs to work within the circumstances to land the prospects we need. Jesse can take as long as he wants. Jesse didn't cost us anything. The only people you can blame that on are the coaches. He said he was going to decide within a week after our camp. That meant a few days after the USC camp. I don't doubt what you say regarding the staff's choice. They guffed up waiting too long to offer Rettig. He shined at their camp and they still didn't offer the kid (even though they did so soon after, with Brunetti). That's the cock up right there, IMHO. He should've gotten the offer and let Brunetti and Rettig race each other for one spot
I'm starting to despise him. He got kicked off VN and Scout. You know something's not right...
On the surface, that may sound like a decent argument, but we all know that the upper tier of QB's are generally wrapped up by now. And they are.Dude, it's July. Waiting as long as possible to extend an offer. And I highly doubt we would even consider accepting that offer until Jesse Scroggins commits. The main point is that a recruit Kiffin wasn't all that interested in choosing another school isn't exactly a kick in the balls.

Jesse is the last top prospect remaining on the board. He knows, and he knew that would be the case. That's sorry if you ask me. To put a team that's in desperate need of a playmaker at QB (UF and USC both have them on the roster...we don't), in such a bind.

I couldnt find it either but it was there yesterday. Couple guys came down hard on him for saying it because it was so out there in left field. He said they changed his scholly offer to some other position and it really pissed him off.
Now this is really going to get interesting... The roller coaster of recruiting
It was no more than 2 weeks ago and JS walked on water... Last week Rettig walked on water and now most people are saying "good riddance"
I still think that when UT offered Rees, it sealed the deal for Rettig to go to somewhere else. Why would he be told that it was up to Jesse and he would be next in line and than the next thing the kid hears, they offered another QB. We all have to remember we are dealing with 17 year old kids and they can be emotional and need attention. When a coach says you are our #2 and then the go out and offer another QB, you can kiss that kid goodbye.
This would be no different than Carroll telling Jesse we are only taking one QB and you are the one we are offering and than two weeks later, we offer Rettig or any other QB.
Kids are looking for loyality and truth from coaches. With the internet and message boards, word gets out fast and that can be good or bad for coaches and recruits..
I do not see Rettig going against his word with BC as he has already stating he wouldnt and that already happened with BC and the first QB.
Should be an interesting week as usual
Can you count? Two weeks? The point is Jesse said he was going to decide within a week, and then decides he's going to push it back over a M-O-N-T-H later...knowing it's already late in the game for QB's.Yeah, he's a real sack of crap for waiting two weeks after his last visit to make his decision. He's pretty much the next Hitler.

What part of that do you not understand? Do you need someone to take you by the hand and walk you over to Rivals and show you all the top QB's that are NOW off the board? And Jesse still hasn't made up his mind. That's fine if you are in USC's or UF's shoes...but we can't afford to wait on one 17yr old, while every other good prospect gets cherry picked.
What you're missing here is, not unlike other schools (ND comes to mind), we are looking to take 2 QB's.Now this is really going to get interesting... The roller coaster of recruiting
