I knew we were going to the JuCo ranks to look at a QB, just didn't know it would be this soon or this guy.

he was dismissed from Florida in November 2008. he entered Blinn in the spring and will play for them this fall. Once you enter a junior college, you have to get a degree before you can return to a 4 year school to play football. I'm fairly certain his grades leaving Florida wouldn't put him in position to graduate this spring adn be eligible for the fall.

Just like Brent Schaeffer situation. Brent sweated to august getting in ole miss

Is summer school an option?

one heck of a talent and one heck of a headache... backup plan

I will say talent wise if he was on the roster now he would be the starter with zero questions asked.

not for getting in this fall. Has to graduate from Blinn to go to any D-1 program. I don't know specifics on his situation but my guess is he needs at least fall semester to get that or more likely all the way through spring...

Why can't he enroll in June and join the team this Fall? Are his grades bad or something? Or what reason would he not qualify?

he to get his degree once he enrolls in Junior College before he can go back to D-1 school. plans are for him to be a Blinn this fall so he can't graduate by June is my take on that.

LWS, whats your opinion of Newton?

He was a highly rated / recruited prospect coming out of high school. I assume if CLK and staff feel he can answer their issues at QB better than high school prospects in 2010 class, they will go that direction.

FYI. I never look at recruiting videos and never try to assess recruits. I'm not smart enough to do that. I depend strictly on the staff to make those decisions (staff over recruiting services for me). They are the one's that have to be right.

Didn't know. Well with the O-line probs he'll be good to have. Ask Dennis Rogan how it feels. I still feel for Rogan.

Sab, that is just painful to watch. Wonder if anything happens with Cam, if Rogan would be willing to forgive him or not??
