This really doesn't sound very good, IMO. I feel like this kid will waiver when he starts getting other big offers.

Offering first won’t guarantee that UT will receive Pair’s signature on National Signing Day in February.

He said he’ll still consider the other schools that are recruiting him.

“I’m still going to look at them but for right now I’m going to be a Vol,” Pair said.

Yeah, that is pretty weak. Wouldn't be surprised if he wavered down the road, especially when he takes a few official visits.

This kid has the potential to blow up. I could see other schools offering and him looking around. I think when they offered Kiffin told him look we are only taking ___# of OL and if you want a spot you should commit.

I retract my above post. I surely hope he is better than what his highlight film just posted on rivals. That was the WORST highlight video I have ever seen! He quit on plays, stands straight up, and didnt move anyone. He will be a project. Carson Anderson's highlight video from HS was better than Pair's

He just said out loud what virtually all of them are thinking when they continue to take visits after giving a verbal. If someone else blows him away then his options are still open... if something doesn't look right at UT, he has a back up plan and doesn't have to scramble to take visits.

No need to overreact.

His video wasn't great. But I am not sure it does him justice. I didn't see the kid quit on anything. Some kids play to the level of competion. He has all the physical tools. He done extreamly well at camp. I think if he ends up here he will be a good player for us down the road. It will take him a couple years but when you do well agaist the DLinemen that were at camp he attended you have some talent.

Kid is now saying he's looking at other places too, but he's committed? what a joke, we're his only offer and now he's getting all pre madonna. We're going out on a limb in offering him, and he's gonna look elsewhere too? wow.

good point. he didnt quit on any play. he was always looking to hit someone somewhere. Just didnt have any fluidity imo.

1) It's "prima donna."

2) Kiffin isn't going to pull his offer just because he said he wants to take other visits. In fact, he actually tells recruits to take all the visits they want. He wants them to be 100% sure that UT is the right place for them before they sign.

A couple things I noticed from that video.

1. He didn't have the explosion that the elite prospects do.

2. He has a very nice frame and looks slim for someone of his size (which is a good thing). So he has plenty of room to grow and add upper body strength.

3. I like his footwork and he has very very good speed for an Offensive Lineman when it comes to getting to the second level guys (ie Linebackers and Safeties).

I dont see him as a low 3-star 5.5 guy.
I'd say he's more of a high 3-star / low 4-star prospect (5.7 or 5.8) when you factor in everything.

Are you the original 'fly on the wall'?

i think your comment is downgrading this kid,,he is already a 3 star and still has weight to put on. He is talented in his own right. We need lineman,,, it seems like a great marriage for him to come here.why did he need to be pressured into anything,, unless you really are the fly.

All I am saying that this guy is a solid 3 years from even seeing the field, which proves his low 3 star status. I thought the kids HIGHLIGHT video was one of the worst I have ever seen on rivals. I though he looked lazy and lacked any explosion at all. I will say his video does look better that OC Browns. That is a huge over rated kid. The only decent thing I saw from his film is that he can run and could possibly get to the second level. Just not impressed sorry if i offended anyone

What schools? He has no other offers. If he gets more offers, it'll likely be a result of Tennessee offering him. There's nothing wrong with taking other visits BEFORE you commit somewhere. Unless they say, "Yea I’m taking more visits, to scope out the comp. or to recruit other players, I’m a VOL no matter what," etc.

He's a punk, get rid of him.

He's over rated in your eyes, which doesn't amount to a hill of beans. The staff took him upstairs after practice and offered on the spot. That's fact, any thing else is null value. He committed to UT, don't knock the kid because he may have an opportunity to get wined and dined at other schools for free. You'd do the same thing and take 5 officials too, especially when your not coming out of pocket. He's not the first nor last and will not make or break this class. Just be happy we're getting OL as it is.
