'10 WA QB Jake Heaps

Kearse commitment to UW doesn't mean much, he has been a lock since his brother committed and he's been talking to Jake for a while as well. When they went to the New Level 7 on 7 tournament together on the WA team, Kearse dropped quite a few of Jake's passes and was the main reason that the WA team didn't win the tournament, so I don't think that helped his cause...Jake is more focused on playing with his current teammate Kasen Williams, and they've been telling recruiters that they would like to play together in college. But in this case, it's wherever Jake goes, Kasen will likely follow.

the old two for one.will take that any day of the week.

I'm no weight lifting coach or anything, but those numbers aren't that impressive. I put up better numbers when I was 17, and I only lifted for about 45 minutes a day 4 days a week and I was around 5'9 170. Not to mention I didn't play for any sports teams. I guess I'd just expect more from a guy of his size and sports background.

That being said. I don't find weightlifting numbers too important for QBs. And I'm still hoping like hell we get this kid.

your 5'9'' he is six foot 2ish. you have short arms that help you on bench. I had one of the strongest arms on the baseball team, but had a low bench be cause of my long arms. so basically Short arms= shorter ways to travel during bench

Just like Travis Henry could bench more than a lot of lineman.

Who were all very tall with very long arms. Strong is strong, no matter how tall.

And also weight room strength has very little to do with throwing a ball with velocity. That has to do with a person's natural fast-twitch muscle to slow-twitch muscle ratio.

The arm length thing is a myth.

Says who? because Docs, S&C coachs, and PTs have told me different. and i can be a testiment that it isnt a myth.

Unless you have freakish long arms all you have to do is arch your back a little more or widen your grip.

For functional strength BP really means little anyway.

now that is right. It will actually hurt QBs if you dont do the right exercise to stregnthin the back of the shoulder too. This is one way rotator cuffs get hurt.

He's a UW lock unfortunately.

IMO, no recruit is a lock until they sign their name on the dotted line. Janzen Jackson and Bryce Brown were locks to every school in the country according to some. We all know how that turned out.

I'm hearing that it's basically a two horse race for him between U Dub and BYU at this point. I really don't know how accurate it is, but the guy generally knows his stuff.

Really I didn't know you could "hear" rivals articles....

Just givin you a hard time man. But they pretty much just said that in a free rivals article today.

Where was the article at? The last one I see is a premium one about the WR committing to the Huskies.

Either way I figure its better to talk about that than benching with long arms.

work=force x distance. longer arms mean more distance and more work. but i will go ahead and agree with everyone, bench press matters so little.
