'10 WA QB Jake Heaps

dude he went on and on about Tennessee in the interview compared to the other schools...we r def. in it. I feel like he really likes us. We will be in it to the end imo.

If you can't hear it he pretty much said everything that you wanna hear. He said he loved and believes the coaching staff, believed he would get coached up well by Kiffin and everybody else, believes Tennessee will get big time talent and they are going to be real good, said we have the best facilities, and said he loves the area and the community, and he really likes the offense.

haha and for lsu and cal he pretty much said he liked a couple of the coaches and said they are good. IMO he sounded higher and said more legit pluses about UT than any other school. About BYU pretty much said its the school of his faith and he likes Mendenhall and Wash he said its his hometown school and thinks theyre gonna be good.

And btw i would LOVE to get his kid. It was the first interview i've heard of his and he composes himself very well and was actually really funny.

People act so surprised when one of these top recruits gush over UT. We are the Vols, by God!!!!!! What's the surprise? We are a freaking NFL factory. We have a stadium of 107000 strong. We have Lane and Chaney who have coached a LOT of NFL QBs. We have some of the hottest coeds in the country. Can BYU or U Dub compete? His kid might redshift for 1 year and be the starting QB for the next 3-4 years. This is not a hard sell. Shoot he might even have PT as a true frosh.

You are severely underestimating the draw of the hometown school. He grew up a fan of UW. He has close friends that go to UW or will be. His parents want him there. He goes to passing camps and is close friends with a guy who used to play at UW and is in his ear to go there. You guys that think these recruits are just going to line up to play for the Vols are setting yourselves up for disappointment. I will be surprised if Heaps ends up playing for anyone but Washington.

I would say that if Washington had talent anywhere but the QB position. I think that evens it out a little bit, but at this point, I still think that it's U Dub>>UT>>>>>BYU on his list.

I would say it's U Dub and BYU out front, us and Cal pretty close to each other behind. Cal is on him hard, but they are also on Austin Hinder pretty hard.

I still thinks he ends up going to UDub but i think we make a pretty good run at him, and heck, maybe we get him.

Bryce wanted to be with his brother and his parents wanted him with his brother too. Didn't happen

imo UT = U Dub and they are both >>>>> every one else. He wasn't blowing smoke in his interview. Any one without orange classes could see he was talking us up more than any of the other schools.

Yeah two totally different situations. IMO this kid in his heart wants to go to UDub but knows UT is the best place for him to be and be successful.

alright Sab, you win we have no chance. Thread is over guys. He is a lock at U Dub. We have no chance and our recruiters should pack it up and move onto 2011. Count us out.

Shut up debbie.

My point is despite a kids desire to stay at home or even if he has pressure from his family to go to a certain school, our staff has persuaded prospects to come to UT. In the last hours of recruiting our staff has gone against all odds and pulled recruits from S Carolina, Notre Dame, UF, Miami, etc. So what if this kid grew up a UDub fan. You don't think our recruiters haven't gone against greater odds than that. In the 4 months Kiffin has been here he has surmounted greater hurdles.. Hell I bet Peyton grew up an Ole Miss fan all his life, and you better believe that he had pressure to play there.

Alright now were getting somewhere. That was a legit argument unlike your earlier post. I agree, i think we have a good shot at him but still think he goes to Udub. That's just sab's opinion and you have your opinion but don't attack someone over it and if you do make it a legit argument.

jmva1. you are right, opinions are like a..holes. Everybodies got one
