I'm sure the staff wanted Heaps to make an earlier decision, but the longer this goes on, the more likely he gets edged out...regardless of where he WANTS to go. If Munchie and Scroggins weren't coming to camp (can't forget Bo Wallace...TN kid, who may impress at camp), I would feel as good about Heaps as anyone.

This seems to be the plan to me. Scroggins will committ to UT after Munchie and after he camps @ USC. Scroggins will not go and sit on the bench @ USC for 3 years!

We will get a blue-chip QB. The situation is just too perfect for at least one of these guys to pass up. After getting Bryce Brown, I wont write ANY recruit off until he signs the LOI with another school. Everyone is getting all bent out of shape WAY too soon. I fully expect us to get one of the big 3 (Heaps, Scroggins, Hendrix). You gotta realize, people throwing out where a player is going at this point is doing what we are.....piecing together interviews and GUESSING. We will be fine.

Whose feeling? It was the feeling for some that the coaches knew BB wasn't coming here either. Heaps may not end up at UT but we are not out of it yet.

After Brown's visit, it was never said that the coaches knew he wasn't coming here. Quite the opposite. With Heaps, many in the know have stated that the coaches have moved on. I'm sorry that is the case, and I wish it wasn't and I'm sorry for dashing your hopes, but Heaps is deciding between BYU and Washington.

It's a golden opportunity for either him or Scroggins, but both may be wanting to bask in all the attention too long before the scholly is taken.
I'm thinking Lamaison and Munchie tie it up before Scroggins can even get on the plane for camp.

I just hope Coach O and CLK can talk some urgency into either

Him being a Mormon and Tenn. being in the middle of the Bible Belt (Protestant) may be a consideration where he would...and justifiably so...feel like a fish on dry land. Better to have someone who REALLY wants to be here, and not just because of the prospect of starting early

i have to say, if we hired these super recruiters and we end up with lamaison and munchie... im gonna be disappointed.

If that's what it comes down to, then there's more to these guys than we may yet realize. Remember how Bryce Petty had a stank senior season? Well, what if Lamaison comes in and at least pushes for the 2nd string spot this fall, and Munchie catches fire and remains one of the top 5-10 QB prospects?
Will you still be disappointed? Just because they are damn good at spotting talent before others do, doesn't mean we have reason to fret

If any of these recruits are afraid of competition from Lamaison, I would be extremely disappointed. Lamaison adds depth. He is not a better QB than the guys we have offered in this class.

have to agree with sab here about Heaps..Coaches seemed to have moved on with all the activity we are seeing lately with other qbs.

Don't be so sure that Heaps is out of it, just because the staff wants a 2nd elite qb. We landed 2 elite running backs this year.

If he doesn't go to BYU, he comes to UT. I think the coaches are smart enough to know that theres a good chance he goes to BYU, but nobody except Jake probably really knows where he's going to go.
