i think we definately land randolph and martin. i also think we pull either walls or mitchell. out of those two though i think the staff will pursue mitchell harder than walls even though walls would be easier to get.

Could one of Randolph/Martin/Walls be converted to Corner? I'd see no problem with us taking all 3. You need one Strong and Free Safety and another great player for depth would never hurt.

Pat Martin faves right now: SCe, UT, NC, Clemson, UCLA,LSU in no order. Will visit SCe 6/12, NC 6/17, TN 6/26.

All three are quality players and you cannot turn that down in our current position in the football landscape.

I am hearing Martin will be at UT on the 26th and 27th for a visit. Sound really good for UT for him right now. Maybe yesterday was just the start.

Definitely a UT/LSU battle at the moment...and we have Martin's mom, Eric Berry, and Martin's facebook buddy Da'Rick Rogers working for us on this one

we told you in may how excited four-star s pat martin of south carolina was to finally get an offer from the gamecocks. Well, martin didn't commit right on the spot, and in fact he still has south carolina sitting in a top five, but he told eric guimaraes of palmettosports.com that he planned to commit this summer.

Martin's top five is south carolina, north carolina, lsu, ucla, and tennessee. Since we can't see him going all the way out to westwood, we'll consider it a top four, with the gamecocks probably still leading the pack. Oddly, he has plans to visit schools (georgia, perhaps florida) not in his top five, which either means his quintet is not locked in or that he already has his mind made up and is just looking for the best camp experiences.

One ominous sign for the gamecocks: Martin has yet to meet steve spurrier, which could be seen as a slight.

Agreed. While Scout and Rivals often have differing views or information, they usually have similar information. ESPN is always so far off of what every other site reports that it drives me nuts.

Actually not too be too correcting, Pat will be in Tenn Saturday. GA 7/15, UF 7/23. Top 5, SC, NC, UCLA, LSU, TN in no order, this all came from him about 4 days ago, I forgot to post it and haven't had time to write the story. Need a clone. LOL

Pat's a great kid. He's so self motivated. From talking to him I get the impression its a SC and UT battle.

LSU/UT battle IMO.. I think SC waited too long to offer and hes a bit burnt by it.
