'11 SC S Pat Martin - UT Signee

I just went back and reread an interview done by 247 sports with Pat Martin in April and when asked about welcoming competition Martin only said. "I didn't sign down here with the intention of riding the bench. I ain't going to be ride the bench that's for sure". Reading between the lines I think he thinks he's better then he really is at this point and doesn't understand that at this level nothing is going to be handed to you.

Here is some even better Pat Martin reading
Today’s extended metaphor: In sickness and in health | Get The Picture

Reading between the lines, I don't think he wanted to ride the bench.

I just wish the kid would have stuck it out. I think he may have been and injury away from being in the rotation. DB was one of the deep areas we had on the team. There is no shame in an RS for the first year. I just hate that he left before the first game was played.

Enrolled at Georgia Military College, will be in the '13 recruiting cycle. Martin said that a few schools in the SEC & ACC along w/ West Virginia have been in contact w/ him.

Kids today think that greatness is High School equates to a free and easy ride in college. I've seen it time and time again with the kids i've coached in BB. Bad attitude and poor mentoring leads them to make bad decisions and go down a dead end road.

Somebody should explain to mr. martin that 2 solid years at DB in the SEC will often equal a pro contract. This *WAS* his best path to the NFL, i suspect now that a car wash or gas station in the area is now hoping to sign a long term contract with mr martin to wash cars starting in 2014.

Makes me appreciate folks like the Reviez kids even more. HARD WORK is the only path to success.

No, hard work + talent = success. What NFL roster is Nick Reveiz on right now?

Good luck to him. Hopefully he doesn't go to USClite

I don't really see what it matters. He was pretty much running with the practice squad here. He might have contributed some day, but more than likely other freshman would have come in and kept him down on the depth chart.

I'm not insulting him. Just making a point.

I can work my ass off on a basketball court or golf course but that won't ever make me Kobe Bryant or Tiger Woods.

You have the most pathetic attitude I've ever seen.

"Hey Reveiz, You aren't going to be successful like Brian Urlacher, so you might as well stop working so hard."

"Hey coach Snyder, I don't like being at KSU, so I'm just not going to try hard. Is that cool? Hopefully you'll still start me at some point this season, though."

Reveiz gave all he had at UT, why would you expect SGM to say something good?

Everybody's jumping on you, but what you said was true.

Reveiz was playing fullback for Tampa, but got cut.
