If Tennessee wants to compete, the states of GA, SC, AL, and FL are crucial as they are to any major southeasten football team, but for our program, the importance of those states are amplified due to the depressing level of talent the state of TN produces each season. IMO King, Richardson, Washington, Kerbyson, and Clear are definite SEC prospects, Crowder is right there as far as potential goes.

The top schools are in talent rich states and their empahisis is on this. TN may not have huge numbers like Florida, but you have to get these top guys.

I agree. I think King is a legit prospect and the staff is really going after him. He's talked to three different coaches. I like his attitude towards us as well.

Looks like King came in at No. 5 on Hooker's top 10 list of the state's top prospects.

“I met (UT) coach (Derek) Dooley,” King said. “He’s a real cool guy. He told me that he was going to turn the program around. … It would be pretty cool to play at a school like Tennessee.”

But it would also be pretty cool to play close to home.

“Vanderbilt is 20 minutes away,” King said. “When a school is right by your home, you always have to keep that in consideration. And they have probably the best school in the SEC — if not the country — academics wise.”

Still, there are even deeper ties to another school. King’s parents attended Ole Miss and the Kings still have family in the state.

“If I was to go to Ole Miss, knowing my grandparents don’t live too far away, that would be a consideration,” King said.

Bump.......considering he is at, or near the top of our CB board.

When is Derek looking to commit to the school he wants to go? Is he a NSD guy. or before his season starts?

Gotta believe that any kid that works with Buck to get ready for college is going to end up at UT in the end if UT wants them.
