UNC is arguably the best offer a defensive kid can get. Bama is right there with them.
Butch Davis can flat-out evaluate talent. He was impressed enough to offer and that's plenty good enough for me.
Thanks man...
FWIW...his coach...who also coaches Kimbrow...has said that by the end of the season people will consider Redmond the #1 player in Memphis
I've been saying the same thing for a while. Many here don't agree with me, but to each his own. I said Redmond will have a better year than Kimbrow.

You know this how? How do you know they didn't reach out and he said "Not interested?"

I was joking.
Kid is a good player. Those schools you listed all have really goo instate talent and can pull kids from their own state that are comparable or maybe a little better, so why the state to do it an make it harder on yourself?

Oh yeah, his UNC team was so much more athletic overall than us in the Bowl game it was crazy. That was basically his second string out there too. We had a few big time talents(Bray, Hunter, D.Rogers, Brewer, and Janzen) that stood out. But their team was much more athletic. Redmond is the type of player Fulmer and Kiffin would've missed. Just like Kiffin did with Matheiu(standout freshman for LSU). Redmond is a very nice sized CB that I could see playing early with his athleticism alone. We still don't have explosive players playing CB on this team. I think he and Dawson can bring some of that to the position if they chose to come here.

Gotta start winning again.

I thought it was a #UNC / #Canes battle for Memphis East (Tenn.) CB Will Redmond. If #UGA offers, #Dawgs will have strong shot

The funny thing is those three programs aren't really winning. Miami has a new coach, UNC beat us with the help of the refs(and have NCAA news coming like hell), and Georgia has a lot of uncertainty around it's program. Now if Dooley and staff lose Redmond I'll be pretty pissed. For us to lose Redmond and Sheldon Dawson (two potential CBs) in the same year plus their in-state, would be just crazy to me.
