This class may not live or die without him, but If the staff isn't serious about recruiting the best in state players... There might be a problem.

Again, I know the staff is serious about recruiting him and they should be because he is a good player. I just question that he is the #1 overall recruit on TN's board.

Like I said, Kimbrow is good, but this class will not make or break without him. If it came down to a 5* DT and Kimbrow with one spot left, I am taking the DT.

FWIW a solid poster on VQ said Kimbrow isnt a top priority to the staff b/c he isnt a every down player, w/ the limited number of spots in this class they are looking for every down players & the front 7 on D.

Kimbrow said him & Redmond are 100% for sure going to the same school together, they have been friends since 6th grade. Kimbrow will visit Cincy in June & wants to visit UF, Miami, & USC.

This is from jmoore on 4/25/11. On my mobile it's on page 51 of the Kimbrow thread. I'm assuming the coaches told him he was the #1 priority, not the players like it may sound when reading the quote. It's from VQ.

Words of wisdom. D is critical. 75% defense in this class and take offensive players that will help in the scheme you are running. I would love to get Kimbrow, but he's seeming more and more like a luxury than someone to make an "every down impact." It seems like the board wants him here just so we don't have to face him IMO.

That does not prove crap. #1 priority out of what... Memphis, Position, TN, etc... Like I said they sell a lot of kids on similar verbiage.

I am not arguing that he is a good player or a priority of some sorts. I just think it's foolish to think that TN covets him more than some of the other elite talents, especially the ones that are in positions of need.

I cannot believe with all the urgent needs we at the DT and LB position that Kimbrow is number one on our board. He is not the best athlete on the board. In fact I would rather have Robinson than Kimbrow.

Robinson is underrated IMO. I think he will be a star in college.

Although vague, I think it says a lot. "I'm the #1 priority." If it's not the board, which I think it definitely is, it's definitely the state, easily. What more do you want? You're stubbornness is obviously getting the best of you. Maybe a thick head? Kimbrow is above Robinson and Mathers. Period.

If you're so adamant in finding a for sure answer, go talk to Hubbs or something. I don't think you're going to find anything you can't read in his thread. I'm sure there is more there, I just quoted the first thing I saw in which he stated he was told he was #1.

On another note, I don't think this staff has built a reputation as being BSers. I don't think they are telling multiple guys they are #1. Players consistently rave about how honest, straight-forward, real, and down-to-earth the staff is.

Robinson will get his offer based on his camp performance. Also, there's no way we end up with one and not the other. It's been known for some time they are going to the same school.

Exactly, but don't tell that to everyone who wants to believe every thing they hear. No way a excited 17 year old could have accidentally twisted a word or two.

I would say he is probably the top ATH on the board. I feel like there are others on the board ahead of him as true RB's.

Get what? You have failed to prove he is #1 overall on the board.

Nobody is saying that he is not a priority.. Only that he is not #1 overall target.
