If Mathers were a Florida back you people would be creaming your pants over him
I like him better than Cross, and not because he is instate. He has more speed, more agile, and has a good frame to put on some weight.
I have seen this kid play in person he is the real deal. BHS plays in a very tough district and before his injury against Riverdale he was lighting people up. He has a lot of people in his ears telling him UT is not the place for him.My son goes to BHS from what I've heard his coach, father and the guidance counselor has tried to steer him away from here. I for one would love to have this kids here just doesn't look good.
I think he is go enough to start against NC State.
But I am admittedly biased.
For the good of the Big Orange Nation, I just want to see us patch up this "UT" problem in middle Tennessee. In particular, the Rutherford County six big schools...Riverdale, Oakland, Siegal, Blackman, Smyrna & Lavergne. We need to be pulling in 2 or 3 recruits from those schools each and every year.

Now that is middle tennessee bias. Two or 3 recruits from rutherford county is a stretch.
Envy...local school (Vandy) is irrelevant? I bet the real issue is that UT "thinks it's too good" for these coaches players and rarely ever looks their way. This probably builds a lot of resentment over time.yeah, what's the deal with this rift?
Some Coaches are either Vandy or Bamer fans, and loathe UT. Never mind. That couldn't happen, right?

When they do happen to have a recruit that gets national recognition, UT still isn't interested half the time.
With 9 state championships since 94 there has to be some talent in Rutherford county. I know that doesn't necessarily equate to college level but I would think 2 or 3 per year is not that far fetched.
