I havnt read through the entire thread and it may be in here but what is the connection to Ronnie Pillow? I was told that has a big thing to do with the new found interest in Tenn due to JayG and RP friendship. What's the story?

I just tweeted the exact same thing. And will mathers really want to sit behind Lattimore for 1 maybe 2 years or will he want to have the chance to play immediately?

Tennessee commit. I'm calling it.

I've seen his film. i think he can be really, really good.

Also, if Nick Saban thinks he can play RB at Alabama, I'm sold.

heh. I've seen him live. My highschool had a top 10 defense in the state. held opponents to some of the lowest rushing and point totals in the state. He gashed us for 230 yards.

Yep, one of the main reasons he commited to arkansas was because he knew he had a chance to compete for playing time and be the guy early on. Tennessee can offer the same thing and now has Jay Graham on its side. Feel optimistic about this one.

If this works out, then it will be a first for me. I have never seen a recruit go from adamantly "OH hell NO" to "Yeah I think I'll be a Vol".:blink: I'm in shock that he is even listening to us.

Hopefully the posters on volnation will do the same over the next couple of years. As the go from oh hell no in regards to dooley.

I want to know where he heard that. I can't see I'tavius coming to UT. If he does, Graham deserves a freaking trophy.

Alright I have no idea if this is true or not but this is what I am being told. I went back thru the thread and didn't see it mentioned. It could shed some light on why this is happening.

Ronnie Pillow(former vol rb) has a close connection to Mathers.

RP didn't have a great experience as a Vol and had pushed Mathers away from knoxville.

JayG and RP were teammates and great friends thus changing RPs opinion.

Anybody know if any of that is true?

I know somebody at Blackman HS really well but its not my style to come on here and act like I have inside info. I would feel a lot better about that if somebody else could tell me that Mathers and Pillow have a relationship. If so I think the dots have been connected.

Even with Lattimore coming off knee surgery you dont think Mathers would have a chance at starting?

Mathers happens to be in my extended network on facebook. Checked his friends list and found that he did have two Pillows in there. No ronnie pillow though. Rictoria Pillow and Kendrica TooShort Pillow. Maybe they're his kids. idk. Its disturbing how stalkerish I am when it comes to Tennessee football.

Are we talking about the same Lattimore? You know, the guy who rushed for over 2,000 yards as an underclassman? Lattimore will most likely be down next year. But he will still start. The fact that he could have a down year could even play in our favor as it increases the chance that Lattimore stays for his Senior season, meaning Mathers would have virtually no chance of starting until he is a Junior. He could see touches right away at Tennessee.
