My take is Tennessee if picking only one, takes Nichols every time, CCM wants Nichols, BAD. Speculation has been that both guys WILL NOT go to the same school...

So...does CCM not feel good about Nichols? Is he pushing to get both guys?

Just seems like he'd almost want J3 to wait, because if J3 committs it may scare off Nichols, and I think if he can only have one he wanted Nichols.

I don't know, just found it interesting....maybe he feels good about both!!!

I don't believe it. There's nothing substantial to suggest they won't play together. When UT starting pushing hard for JW3, he wanted to play the 3 all of the sudden. I don't believe that's an accident.

I think CCM wants both. Not only that, I think he believes he can get both. To me, I wouldn't make it one or the other. I'd push the "Become the greatest class in UT history" angle.

I can buy that, maybe it's the orange glasses, but hey no shame. I will say, if CCM pulls both, you're gonna have people all over the country wide eyed and a bit nervous....none more nervous that pasty in Memphis.

Very true...however he wants Nichols more...so does he jeopardize running off nichols?

It's one of two things IMO...

He either doesn't feel good about Nichols

Or

He feels very good about his chances of landing both, and has probably already cleared adding J3 through Nichols.

Say we land the trifecta and add Nichols and J3 to Hubbs...this could be next years rotation!

PG: Golden/ Moore
SG: Hubbs/ Mcrae
SF: McRae/ J3/ Edwards
F: Nichols/ J3
F: Stokes/ Yemi

Why does everyone keep forgetting about Richardson? He had a very good freshman year and showed lots of promise. And reports from the summer are that he has improved his handle and shot a bit.

No I thought of that...but

If he feels good with Nichols why worth about it if you're only taking 1? And like I said you'd think he may not wanna push too hard because a J3 committ could run off AN.

Call me crazy or a conspiracy theorist....I think AN has informed CCM he is a Vol, but wants to honor his visits still. I think CCM asked him, are you ok with it if I also pursue and try to add J3....

I know crazy, but it's my theory!

I can see JRich being in the discussion for potential transfers along with Reese and Chievous. Being a former top-150 guy, he may grow a strong desire to see some serious PT, and may see the writing on the wall so to speak.

Just don't understand this thought. Chievous maybe, but JRich had a solid season and will only get better. And Reese surprised a lot of people this summer, and from all reports looked good practicing with the team before the surgery. I think both are versatile and will be quite valuable role players for this team over the next few years; and I can even see JRich getting serious minutes as soon as this season.

And I have no issue with this...

CCM is turning over the roster, cutting the lesser takented and replacing with more talent. Next years roster could be ridiculously takented....

You're entitled to your opinion...

Mine is Richardson minutes go down this year from last, not up.

And that's not a trend you want...as you get older minutes decrease, never a good sign.

Not saying it will happen, but he is being recruited over at this point. He really needs to stake out a spot in the rotation this season and show improvement offensively.

I don't think he's being recruited over. I think it's just CCM recruiting the best guys he can get to fill his 'ships. If you notice, most of the guys he is recruiting or has recruited are the versatile types that can play numerous positions. JRich, Edwards, Reese, J3, Nichols, Davis; all those guys can play 2 or 3 positions each. CCM wants to be flexible it appears.

Except for the fact that it's possible we are adding one more than we have scholarship for, so he's recruiting over someone. Also, we lose 1 guard and 3 posts, yet are bringing in possibly 4 wings and a PG...what does that tell you?
