The angles our guys took over and over last year made me want to vommit. I don't understand how it was not fixed, well actually yes I do...
Don't get me wrong, I love Byron Moore as a Vol. But his instincts in the run game were so pathetic last year. He always seemed to be out of position and get crossed up.
There were definitely more examples than Byron, but he killed me when I watched him. During the UGA game, I would rewind the t.v several times just to point where he was and how he gave up a huge play lol
Can't exactly put all the blame on the players. Miscommunication and playing out spot were just as much to blame.
It was a combination of alot of things last year in defense. But if you take away someone's instincts and confuse them then of course they look even slower. It'll be better this year. I think that unit is hungry
"McDowell is a versatile playmaker at the safety position who I could see playing safety or maybe even sliding up to linebacker if depth necessitates. On his high school squad he's had some big games at wide receiver, so you know he's got a nose for the ball when he's in the secondary.
More importantly for the Tennessee staff, they reached into Georgia and were able to snag a commitment from a guy that a lot of other schools really wanted.
As the program continues to try to get back to where it was, guys like McDowell will be very important."

"Just the anticipation of it," McDowell told FOX Sports NEXT. "I had my mind set for Aug.2 but I knew that I was going to do it a little bit earlier. So, there was some anticipation that played into it."
On coaches' reactions:
"I had four different reactions *two of them had goosebumps, one of them (Tommy Thigpen) was with his wife celebrating their 10-year anniversary, and then another one he was lost for words he was so excited."
"Coach Martinez, he was recruiting me when he was at Auburn. Then, once he left and went to Tennessee, he stayed on me," McDowell said."Coach Thigpen, just talking to him every time we went up to Tennessee, we built a relationship with each other."
"It will be great," the 6-1, 205-pound McDowell said. "Me and T.K. talked about it today, talked about playing together. We talked about who wants to play where. I told him I would play strong and let him play free because I like to get in the box and hit people."
On Coach Serrano's reaction to him committing to the baseball team:
"He was excited," McDowell said. "He said he would like for me to roam the outfield for him and then turn around and roam the defensive backfield for the football team."
