Always seems to be an excuse.

Honestly who is Memphis all out on? I've not seen one person they're recruiting that they seemed to of been in more attendance for in July than black. Memphis had coaches a every single one of Black's games in July, that seems like putting quite a bit into a player.

Most seem to think he's a strong Illinois lean. However, a month ago everyone and their mother thought he was going to Florida, he visited Florida and all of a sudden everyone was picking him to Illinois and he eliminated Florida. Black is one who just keeps ya guessing, I think we are in it, but definitely trailing at least 1 team. As I said above, if we can get him to visit you never know.

If you read back, I never thought he'd be staying in Memphis. Same with Chi. Same high school, same coach.

Kirby started pursuing him when he came on staff but it was late in the game and everybody seemed to think his mom wanted him to play somewhere else.

All out on for 2014? It's hard to say but I think maybe Alexander, Cheatham, Bowers, Lattin (can't remember if he's still in the mix) and several guards like Magee and Gray. (I'm thinking Memphis will pick up a few juco players next year). I just heard that Snider has set up a visit but I think that's a long shot.

I thought he was just stringing us along, but it seems like we've gained some ground. Can't count him out yet IMO.

Idk that the reasoning has come out...he was thought a month ago by everyone to be a Florida lean. Then all of a sudden he visits there, some thought he may commit, and then he eliminates them. I'm not sure if something happened while on the visit or what, but something happened it would seem.

Don't know much about many of those guys except for Alexander, I know he's said he'll visit Memphis, but that's a waste of your staff's time IMO.


I know the Memphis/Black interest had cooled, but as you said when Kirby joined the staff Memphis basically went full court press on him for the month of July.

I wouldn't count anybody out with this kid. He's even going back to visit Baylor.

Good kid but I think he has potential to aleinate a team. He's going to require a lot of attention. One thing he said about Memphis was that he wasn't feeling the love. Sort of like the kid that went to Missouri (Williams).

Not sure if it's awaste of time. Several have said it's a long shot but he talks to the staff a lot and is coming for Memphis Madness.

I think they'll get by with a 2-3 pickups and a couple of JUCOs. The '15 class is much stronger and seems like they'll put more into those efforts.

It was in an article recently. I think in the CA. that's not an exact quote but you could tell he just wasn't feelin it.

I think he's going to be happiest where he's the star whether the team is winning or not........JMO. Illinois may be a good place for him.

BTW........Roby is another kid at White Station that never had much interest in Memphis. He recently commited to St Louis.

I can understand that if it did happen. Emmanuel Negedu said the same thing about us sometime after we gave him the freaking gift of life.

Oh.......you mean where did it say it was visiting Baylor? I don't remember. I may have heard that on the radio. I think it was said to be an UOV. Maybe I'm mistaken. I lost interest in Black a year or so ago.

I said it a while back and still believe it.........I think it would be best for UT and Memphis if he 'takes his talents' elsewhere.

Dude's a wildcard haha. I have no idea where he's gonna go, but if I had to guess, I say Illinois. Would still love to have him in orange and white though.

I'd love it too. I'm not going to hold my breath. The one good thing is that if we don't get him he won't be playing in the SEC which is really good.

So that wasn't an exact quote yet you said that one thing he said was "he wasn't feeling the love from Memphis"?

This is kinda like when someone said he was a pre Madonna and Chris asked for evidence/examples of how and nobody could provide it.
