'14 TN OL/DL Charles Mosley (UT Signee 2/5/14)

Fort and VQ have no idea what they're talking about, see how they botched the Weatherd EE news.....oh wait.

Haha yes. I'm still going with the theory that if Mosley wasn't a take Fort and Hubbs would tell us like they did with the other DL who weren't takes. They've continually said Mosley is very much wanted by UT and is recruited as such. They've also said UT has been his leader for awhile now and he could commit at anytime. They have yet to give me a reason to doubt their information so until they do...Mosely = Vol.

You think if we loose reed and lamin that might change that thinking??

Not sure. Lamin is already off the board IMO. When a kid comes off an OV to UT and tells everyone within hrs that he is sticking with usce, I think he does. Have not seen much said about Reed lately.

I would like to see us sign Ward as the kid is a freak of an athlete to be 6'7 285 and running a 4.6. Kid could play on the DL. Could you imagine him as a TE? With his speed, he would be a nightmare for LBs. He did play some WR recently. I just see alot of upside in the kid. I know he only has 2 years, I'd take him and roll the dice.

I agree lamin is out. That's why Mosley still has a spot ATM IMO

Exactly. They've been right on top of things with all the guys in this class, pretty obvious their info is coming from someone on the staff. As you said they shared their thoughts on Ford, McDowell and Humphreys when everyone else thought they were guaranteed spots.

IMO Mosley is a silent and they already have the story written

Yup. Fort flat out said Mosley was set to commit today. I think Thomas deciding to commit today threw folks off. And I don't think Butch wanted to have two commitments in a single day, likely wants to keep them spread out. There hasn't been any double commitment days since Butch was hired except of course the Berry twins.

Where are we at with Jihad?

Yup that's exactly what I said earlier, they don't wanna have two in the same day IMO. They'll continue to stagger them, interested to see when Mosley sets up and OV, will it be for the Vandy game?

I agree with this. I know that CBJ is looking for the best players no matter the location, and CBJ knows what he is doing. But Mosley's area has many people that are Vol fans. I don't believe that he would play around with this recruitment and slow play him and risk losing support. Maybe I am wrong. I also don't really know how well Mosley knows Richmond, but it doesn't hurt. JMO.

The only thing ( if any )( your welcome bruin) that makes me think maybe they are just pullin his strings is look at all of our other D line commits and tell me Mosley fits with them. Do you get just one big clogger only and run him in on 4th and 1? He is nothing like the rest of the guys this year and I don't see him beating out some of those guys either. Situational player at best. Just an opinion. In Ron I trust.

Cory Thomas on Mosley:

"We saw each other at the Tennessee —*South Alabama*game, we were talking in the locker room and we started from there. I was talking to him on Twitter...man, we'll see if he joins us. You know I'm going to try to do my part."

How big of a factor is the "lock down the state" aspect here?

He plays a position that:

A) Tennessee traditionally doesn't produce that much talent at.

B) UT traditionally struggles recruiting.

So, I think it is a little bit of a factor. I just hope he's mean and not a big, huggable, squeezable Teddy Bear.

Alan Carson takes exception to this remark. You still gotta love AC in spite of his playing time. He's as lovable of a Vol as there is.

LOL, Carson's from AL though, doesn't count. But he does look huggable.....

SN: Does he even play ST? He may be qualifying for a medical scholly soon.

AC has a solid orange heart and loves this university to the core. If there is one player I wished that could turn the corner and be a major factor it would be him. Unfortunately, he hasn't shown any sign of ever playing.

I have two concerns about our man Mosley, after he was my favorite early recruit.

1. He began to fall in the rankings after reportedly poor showings in camps this summer.

2. How has he done his senior year? Any highlights? I haven't seen any stats or reports. Does he play aggressive, or is he just big? I really want to know, because that makes a world of difference.

I've been wanting to know this for awhile.
