'14 TN OL/DL Charles Mosley (UT Signee 2/5/14)

It can also be mental. Some kids who get injured real early have trouble being involved and staying the course because they can't get on the field. It sounds like Charles doesn't take things too seriously and has a great attitude, so he should be ok.
True, and I agree. I think he'll personally be fine. I just can't help but be fearful of that with big guys.

Glad he is OK and hope he recovers quickly. I'm sure his team will be there for him to help him through this tough time. Big Charles can take a football break and help Butch in Crutin!

Get well soon Charles!

Broken legs (depending on severity) can be better then a torn ACL a lot of times.

I broke my Femur (above knee) when blitzing my freshman year in high school. Was lucky and it was a clean break. 12 weeks in a full leg cast and I was good to go.

I've had both and an ACL is much worse in terms of pain and recovery.

Prayers to Charles and his friends and family. As an Auburn fan, we say what a car wreck can do and how quickly your precious life can end with Lutz passing. Praise The Lord it wasn't any worse. I wish him a speedy recovery.

Prayers to Big Charles and his family. Take care of yourself and get well soon big guy. Stay positive and work at getting better.

It's times like this that football doesn't make a damn. Perspective. Get well Big Charles! VFL means just what is says no matter what happens.

Could be totally healed by the beginning of November. Time to start some workouts and rehab. If we make a bowl game, it would help in getting in some after season practices.

Get him the redshirt and mental reps on the field. Let the man recover and be a beast next year.

Glad he is ok. Mentally, it has to be a major letdown for him. He is in my prayers.

My brother recently did the same thing, 8th grade, got speared low by a teammate while he had the ball carrier wrapped up. Huge cast for 10-12 weeks, then stiffness. But nothing like if he would have had a ACL tear. Prayers for Mosley tho, hope he comes back stronger then ever!

Quick recovery for big Charles

Our man has to be super careful with his diet now. Conditioning is off the table for a while, and he could really go the wrong way and end up over 400 in no time

Rowing machine and wheel chair races.

This would be a good time for him to lose weight. You can get cardio without legs. Rowing would do wonders.

I hope for a speedy recovery.

It's been ten weeks now since my ankle surgery (broken fibula). My cast was off at 7 weeks, started rehab, & now I'm walking a mile a day & starting to take some golf swings. I know, not as serious as his injury, but I'm considerably older than Big Charles. :p

Good news is I've actually lost ten pounds since my accident. Just not hungry sitting in bed all the time.

Hoping he has a speedy recovery too.

The truth is, tons of weight can be shed on diet alone. I cut 35 pounds in 6 months with minimal cardio.

However, big Charles got big by eating big. Now, with less mobility, it's tempting to just sit around and eat.

Chain the dietician to him, and he could drop weight, but it's going to be very easy to slide the wrong way.

Well, it's butch's issue to think through. Best recovery to Charles. Lets see how he does

What did or didn't you eat?

Upper extremity cycling can help. May help with his 4th qtr endurance...:)
As soon as cleared, waterproof cast and swimming also would be good for him. Hopefully his fractures are distal and not proximal (shorter cast), quicker recovery time, and better outcomes.

Plus Coach Lawson and the nutrtion team will watch him closely. Better for him that he is already at UT...

Hoping and praying for the best Big Charles! :salute:
