'14 TN OL/DL Charles Mosley (UT Signee 2/5/14)

"They are recruiting him as both. I think he may be one of those guys you don't really know his position until he gets somewhere the summer after he signs and you see up close what his make up is and how athletic he is.

This is from my point of view, he can be a good defensive tackle, but has his greatest potential on the offensive line."

I guess the Alabama strategy is to do anything to get him on the team, then make him an OL like they were going to anyways.

My mock class now seems less sure.

I think it also bodes well that he is not attending UA camp this week. This camp is biggest for UA this summer with a lot of targets who UA is after and many commits showing up as well. I am sure Mosley was invited and the staff probably wanted him down there, but he is not expected to show.

I personally think his recruitment is starting to wind down and would not be surprised to see him commit to UT before the season starts or shortly there after. If he visits UT soon that will say a lot that time table could speed up.

I don't think his absence from the camp is a sign because he did come to the camp last month.
I do agree and feel like he will commit to UT and it not because Bama doesn't want him, because they definitely do, its just the fact that UT has just been on him hard and has made him a priority.

Jordan Sims was very impressive at the camp today, if they give him a commitable offer as an OG that should pretty much solidify that Bama is not expecting to get Mosley.

I took that post from Ron as what UT was recruiting him as and doing not UA. Someone asked Ron what UT wanted Mosley as and he posted that from PF.

And yes UA was never really sure where to use him and that is per Mosley himself. Mosley said after the UA camp last month the staff tried him at both, but it seemed our staff wanted him on the DL. Even Mosley talked about playing DT for UA as if that is where he would line up. Again Mosley does not look like he will end up at UA and if for some chance he did it would be on the DL from his last camp performance and based on what he said.

Plus, the fact that he just likes UT better. If bamer was down like us or if we were currently winning like bamer, then there would have been no doubt this entire time.

"While Charles Mosley is a maybe he's still hoping to be in Knoxville by the end of the weekend. Mosley is in the beginning stages of setting up official visits. When he does, look for Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn and Georgia to likely receive four of those visits with Ole Miss likely grabbing the fifth if he decides to take one.

Mosley understands that a lot of classes are beginning to fill up and will likely try and take as many visits as he can this fall, high school schedule allowing."

Best not wait too long or he'll end up at Vandy. That would suck for Mosley.

He could commit to Bama now. They want him. Now, if he waits until December, he might not be able to commit to Bama or UT.

Did not know they would take him now. I thought TW said they(bama) were still evaluating him. Made it sound like other guys were much higher on their board.

Thought I'd put this out there - I've seen several analysts say that Mosley's future projects best on the offensive side of the ball (based on what they've seen in camps). IIRC, our staff has been looking at him for both sides of the ball as is Bama's staff. If he were to commit, I wouldn't consider him a "DL" commit.

Bama has higher guys on their DT board but they'd take him today as an OL. And he could have committed to Bama as a DT a couple months ago but he waited too long and they took other guys.

I think Tennessee is recruiting Mosley as a large man who can move people. Regardless of the side of the line he moves them.

Yep, I'm not convinced anybody knows which side of the ball he ends up on, regardless where he ends up.

Him and Blair would close out a just top notch OL class.

So you think he could play OL for us? The way tiny talked at SEC media day it seemed like we want trimmer/more mobile O linemen who can get up and down the field and play at a high tempo. I'm not so sure Mosley fits that mold or at least not at this point.
