'15 GA DE D'Andre Walker

Those saying they prefer Walker over Phillips. I think in terms of upside both are pretty damn gifted. Yall do realize they play different positions though right? Completely different prospects.
Maggit was a bit undersized for a DE when he was a freshman, and started out as an OLB. This is really the first year he has been used more as a DE/Pass rusher...but then again, he's bulked up to the point that he can play that role more.

Walker is a lot like Chris Weatherd, IMHO. He's going to be an OLB, who can pass rush, and after a few years in the S&C program, he may move to DE full time.

Maggit was really small for a HS DE. He wasnt even 200lb his SR year. Kust shows you how much of a freak the kid was at Dwyer. The only issue with Walker is frame. Im not sure he has the frame to carry enough weight to be a fulltime DE. His best asset is speed. Reminds me of Ryan Shazier or Jarvis Jones. Both became big time college rush lb. Kid will be a good.

Most would say Phillips because he lives is TN. SMH.

They may be different players but right now that doesn't matter its a numbers game. If you have a spot for an edge D lineman left, which would you take?

Kid will be good. Officially cutting Auburn wasn't shocking. I feel good here but then again that doesn't mean much

I would say Walker honestly just going by the eyeball test but according to those that have worked with Phillips and how highly they regard him, I guess I would lean that way.

Considering the performance of Barnett this year.. and this being a LOS league.. it's tough either way since both are really talented

In the end.. you make room for both.. somehow, someway

I'd take Shazier's production for the next 4 yrs. If Walker has similar speed he could fill a Striker type role. He has that smaller frame as well and hasn't put a ton of weight on from his Armwood days.

Jake’s Notes

*** I did some checking on D'Andre Walker and right now, I'm not changing my Crystal Ball pick of Georgia. With that said, I am of the opinion that this one could go either way and if he chose Tennessee, it wouldn't surprise me at all. I know in speaking with those close to the situation, no one is particularly confident in Georgia or Tennessee but the consensus seems to be that Auburn is in third. We will watch this one as the week goes along. I do feel like whoever lands the four-star talent will have to fight hard to hang on to him until National Signing Day.

With two Elite DT's coming in I want the most explosive pass rusher off the edge. Walker and Taylor are as good as it gets from that standpoint.

Is he making an announcement because network/all star game peoe are influencing kids to do so in order to get more TV announcements ?

I'm not sure this staff views DEs as SDE/WDE. I think they want multiverstal guys on the line. Walker and Taylor bring a different dimension than what a guy like DB or CV brings.

Then, you have guys like ford who are very unrated. I know, I know, all our players are unrated, right? But seriously, Ford, Smith, and Picou are big time players. Personally, I like Miller at CB too.
I agree, defensive end is a defensive end. Did anyone ever see Barnett on the left side?
