It's an interesting trend for sure. This is one of the best years for QBs in California in a long time. A lot of good prospects. There are a couple of guys in the Midwest the Vols are looking at that are MAC level guys (but one out of 10 always ends up being really, really good).
There's really not a lot of high-end guys in Georgia or the Carolinas this year. I know Nunez is highly-ranked, but I've seen him multiple times and I think he's probably a step below some of those West Coast guys. I liked Kelly Bryant's game and was a little surprised the Vols didn't make a bigger effort there. I know there were some injury deals that scared a few teams off.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I think they are in it for the Francois kid for sure, probably one of the top two or three, but some believe FSU is the end destination even though they seemingly are set at QB for a couple of years. I know Lawson really likes Florida and it seems like he wants to stay in state, but like I said, it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
