'15 TN DE Dylan Jackson (former UT commit)

LSU247 has confirmed that Jackson will be in Baton Rogue this weekend. Their mods seem to think a flip is very, very likely.

Sounds good, this kid is an OT all the way, if he doesn't want to move I say cut him loose and get a kid that's hungry to play the position.

Dylan Jackson doesn't fit the DE mold. That LSU has been putting on the field. The Mingo type the slight build, super quick, pass rushing type.

If he's smart, he'd go to Stanford. He has an offer from them

Ok...not going to lose any sleep over him if he doesn't want to be here.

This.

He's obviously not on board with playing OT (like some have said) and I don't think any unbiased person could honestly say that Jackson is a better DE prospect than Phillips or Walker.

I agree. He benefits from going against guys much smaller and slower than him week after week. He is talented and has the size, but I tend to see this like the Aaron Douglas recruitment without the drug issues. Better suited for OT. If he doesn't want to risk that here then he should go somewhere else.

We need to keep jackson. We don't need to lose a good player that's right in our backyard. Letting him go imo would be a bad mistake.

Let him come in and play def. it would be a couple of season before he would be able to play ot anyway. He has great instincts at de whether he starts or not.

If we get D'Andre Walker, it's an upgrade

I hope we get dw but jackson could play three different positions. He could play de, dt, or he could play ot. I think having a player that could be what you needed him to be is a valuable player.

Agree, but if the stories are true that he and his family only want him playing DE, then there is not a lot one can do if they are bound and determined not to put team first.

I hate to lose a player from our backyard, but I would hate even more to push one away. If he goes somewhere else on his own terms, it won't be as bad. I just don't want our staff to burn any bridges, and I don't think they will. Walker would be an upgrade though.

The Vols have recruited over Jackson at defensive end.

I would hate to lose him, but if he does, I can't say we will have lost a player who would help us in the next couple of years. He would not likely vie for playing time for at least 2 years and likely 3 years.

I think I'd rather play OT if I were him. NFL has been putting them at a premium lately. I think DE make more yearly on average but seems like OTs would have longer careers and thus better earning potential.
