And Sto, I do agree that I wish these marginal guys Butch would hold off on taking a commitment until later. Maybe he will learn that he is elite at recruiting, and can be a little patient waiting on higher targets before accepting commitments from prospects who are lower on the board.

Is it totally inconceivable that Butch said "You have an offer now but that could change depending on how the numbers work out". "I may have to pull the offer later if things happen a certain way."

Such a bs dirty game that all of college recruiting is.

Kids should be able to sign sept 1 of their senior year and put these coaches and players to making real decisions that stick.

Thing is, I agree with you.. I don't like the practice either.. Don't like recruits going back on their word last minute either.. It is what it is though and is not likely to change..

Don't have a problem with this, as a coach you gotta do what you feel like is best to improve the team. Sucks for the kid, but it is what it is.

I hate this side of recruiting too.... BUT the timing could have been a whole lot worse. This happening Dec. 6 compared to Jan. 6 or even Feb is still a worse scenario for a 3 star prospect

Seems to me that this era of win now or gtfoh inevitably causes coaches to make these decisions more frequently.

Upgrading is a must for Butch because tomorrow isn't guaranteed in this sport. Good luck to TD.

Early signing period is only way this does not. Happens all the time did to me in baseball university of Colorado went to club sport and disbanded 1 wk before I graduated in the 80's

Like I said it sucks. You can complain all you want but its always been this way and it will always be this way.
