'17 FL RB Timothy Jordan (UT signee)

I like what he says on his Twitter account: "Everyday is a day to get better ☝🏾 and i will not be outworked."

FWIW, Jordan's senior stats were fairly ordinary: 149 carries for 1,131 yards (7.6 ypc) & 9 TDs in 9 games. His three highest rushing totals for the year were 313, 202 & 140 yards so those 3 games accounted for almost 60% of his total rushing yardage.

Still, his film is very impressive, IMO, and he definitely looks better than his rankings. Hard to believe that he's our lowest-rated commit at 0.7984, per the 247Sports Composite.
Jordan played for Bartow HS which was not very good in 2016. Record was 4-5 and they were offensively challenged. QB averaged 60 passing yards per game so only offense came from Jordan. Also played in tough district in central florida so competition was high level.
I saw him play against Ocseola. He had very little room to run but fought hard for tough yards.
Good luck to this young man. Glad he is a VFL

I get the hate for all the 3*'s, trust me I'm right there with you in being upset with this class.

But rankings aren't based on the entire class. So all those saying we are only ranked where we are is because of the volume of players are wrong. I think its only the top18-22 that actually count towards the ranking and the rest don't affect anything.

AFter saying that I will say that we will most definitely fall out of the top 10 after signing day with all the 4-5* players that will commit to other schools that day. The only chance of not falling into the 20's is because Trey Smith may be enough to keep us in the 14-18 range. Now if he decommits we would probably end up in the low 30's.

Be pretty hard for Smith to decommit.

Ummmm we've got 27 players committed, which is definitely near the most of any school at the moment and we are in 10th. There's schools with 19 commits rated higher than us so yes when the other schools fill their classes up we will fall. It's pretty simple logic actually. 22 3 stars is pathetic.

They dont count quantity in rankings.

Yeah but it's based off total points though. The only reason we have so many points is because the number of commits.

Ohio state only has 19 commits but #2 in the rankings because the quality of the class.

Yeah, by average on 247 we arent top 15. It'll catch up on NSD, hopefully we can maintain around 13/14.

Fundamentally, I agree with you. That is why the whole "stars" and "ratings" thing isn't a great metric for a kids talent or potential. I think lots of people put way too much stock in that. It is good enough that you can't completely ignore it, but too unreliable to take it as gospel.

Correct, at the end of the day, the ratings are an entertainment product. They're a decent indicator but far from the gospel on a player's potential. I don't think it's fair to villainize them as they do more good than harm.

As unhappy I am about yet another 3*, after watching his film I think he may be a perfect fit for CBJs system.

JMO obviously, but I thought the opposite from his highlights. QB under center, lines up 10 yards back to get a full head of steam, often has a lead blocker. Looks like he runs hard, but didn't look like he had the first step burst and acceleration that a RB needs in this offense.

The Lakeland Bartow game is on youtube...3:43 mark he runs for 80 and a td..he seems to be a 1 cut and go runner.

Will someone call and let CRG know that Volnation says either his eval was terrible because Jordan is rated too low to be a take, or to recruit better so we're not left with "scraps"

No offense, but that's not anything out of the ordinary. The highlights I linked are good though.

I was just being a d!ck.

Was gonna say just being funny, but obviously I failed miserably at that, so I'll go with d!ck instead. :)

I say we just fire CRG and everyone else involved. I can't believe they would dare take a kid that VN didn't approve of. The nerve.
