'17 MS TE Chase Rogers (Former UT commit)

Tight end recruiting is one of the hardest positions to project. I believe I read a stat that it had the highest percentage of 3* starters in the NFL due to that reason. You literally have no idea who is or isn't great.

(No disrespect intended Rockchaw. I want Chase to be a part of this class and he looks great on film. My only point is that it is one of the toughest positions to grade/project for scouting services.)

Chase is mentally tough. I have prepared him for this. He knows the difference between good and great is mental toughness. He has no weaknesses. He is well rounded and unique

He blocks great, has a 3.25 gpa. Mentally tough and physically too. He will finish having started in 52 straight high school games.. 4000 rec yards 230 receptions and around 50 tds.. I don't know what else he has to do? No stress here. He will play for big time program. We are still committed to Tenn. The only thing that has changed is we are opening up other options more aggressively. Not going to not protect my sons best interest!

If you don't mind sharing was there anything particular that is causing you all to look around? Or does taking other TE commits factor in here?

I don't think you'll hear anyone of us complain about you looking out for your son. We want him to be a vol but if you guys think he gets a better opportunity somewhere else then good luck

I think this new TE commit fits Scotts type of TE. A lot like Chase, a tad faster but Chase is stronger. I like Tenn because they are weak at TE. I feel Chase would play as a freshman. Taking another TE doesn't bother me as much as the lack of communication and respect that we have not gotten.

Hang tight. It's a bit messy in K-town.", at the moment. Things are getting sorted out, and then I am sure you will see where you stand

Most important to me with everything you have posted about your son is summed up in the comment "I have prepared him for this". Sounds like you and your wife have done an excellent job raising your son to prepare him for this cruel and difficult world. Kudos to you, sir!

I hope your son makes the best decision for him whether that's playing at Tennessee or not. If it were my son I would be too. Sounds like you will guide him in the right direction. I appreciate your being here and sharing his recruitment with us and giving us insight we wouldn't have known about before.

Care to elaborate on lack of communication and respect?

Many mornings at the batting cage when the other players are still in bed. The talks in the car after a tough loss analyzing what happened and what he could have done to change the out come. I know it sounds like daddy talk. One thing I am most proud of in my son is how humble he is. 3 tds Friday night and ties a state record.. Nothing about the game from him on Facebook Twitter... Life goes on and he loves people like me.we see no color, no class just people. He is a leader. You are either one or not. People gravitate to men like Chase...

Respect means everything to us. Ole Miss slowed played us and then comes back after Tenn and offers. Too late! Communication has dropped off. I have been totally up front and honest from day one. I demand the same back. I am not stupid, I understand the difficulties all parties have in this process. Coaches looking to improve from what the already have. Some kids grades, some change their minds. Always changing and I am a big boy. I can handle the truth even if I don't like it... That's life... If I ask be honest so do we need to open up other options. I get no response back... That is disrespectful to me and my family.

Hopefully they get back to you. I would hate to think that they just ignored you.

Sounds like the type of player we need on this team.:cray:

Be patient with them, they unfortunately have some issues going on and are probably wanting to make sure they focus on getting this season back on track.

That shouldn't keep them from communicating with you long though and I understand your frustration!
