'17 WV OT Riley Locklear (UT signee)

You probably won't be laughing when the rankings come out in Feb or when you see Trey Smith dressed in Crimson.

Oh man I'd forgotten about this poster as his slack has been taken up completely by others like Vols30 Faderoute MWAVolfan Volinbama JMSQb11

Please let us not summon the poster whose name starts with an E and ends with astsidevol.

Locklear is scheduled to be on an OV to Knoxville on Friday 12-9-16. JUCO CB Keisean Nixon will also be visiting on that same day too.

Down time at work I had to kill and hadn't read up on this kid yet (shame on me) so I killed a good two hours... I am that loser

Hey buddy! You're a champion smartazz! Don't let ANYBODY tell you differently! :aggressive: (And yes... champion of LIFE too...save the nega's some bandwidth.) :pinch:

The three-star senior offensive lineman from Spring Valley High School in Huntington, W.Va., said his official visit to Tennessee the weekend of Dec. 10 only served as “confirmation” of his longstanding commitment to the Vols, and he’s now ready to join them next month as an early enrollee.

“It wasn’t any different experience for me from the other times that I’ve been there. It was just confirmation that that’s where I wanted to be,” said Locklear[.] “Really, I just got to spend more time with the players that are there right now and talk to them and build relationships with them. That was a big difference between this visit and my past visits.”

Locklear said he also talked extensively with Tennessee coach Butch Jones and offensive line coach Don Mahoney.

“I got to spend time with them and just sit down and talk with them about stuff that’s going to be coming up,” Locklear said. “I got to sit down and talk some football with Coach Mahoney in his office — sit down and watch some film and stuff and go over some of the things that we’ll be doing in practice whenever I get on campus.”

“They said, initially, they’re going to keep me in my position that I’m in right now,” he said. “They’re going to try me out at tackle, and then they’re going to move me inside and outside and see how I adjust, and put me at center for a while, take a few snaps under center.

“I really feel like Coach Jones and the rest of the coaching staff there has done a really, really good job with their athletes, and we’re just going to continue to get better.” I’ve built a really good relationship with Coach Jones and Coach Mahoney,” Locklear said, “so I’m confident being at Tennessee.”

“There’s a lot of kids around the state and everywhere else that would kill for the kind of opportunities that I’ve been given,” Locklear said. “I don’t take it lightly. I try to do the best I can to represent other West Virginia kids, the sport and the state.”

The notable thing about Locklear’s rise to the state’s top lineman is that 16 months ago, he was still a skill player, lining up at running back and tight end for Spring Valley. It wasn’t until three weeks prior to the start of his junior season that Locklear became a full-time offensive lineman. “Looking back at it, it’s kind of crazy,” Locklear said. “There have been times where it’s been up and down, but truly it’s been a blessing in disguise for me to become an offensive lineman. My freshman and sophomore year, I was a defensive end, slot receiver, tight end and running back. I didn’t ever think I’d be an offensive lineman.”

Great prospect. Not really tested in highschool. Talked to a friends son who I've know forever. He aged at SV as a senior when RL was a Frosh. Great kid. Definite red shirt.
