2008 Titans

Eric King also leaves for Detroit, meaning the Titans have no 2nd or even 3rd string CBs on their roster.....I'm starting to more and more see a pick of CB Moore from Vandy

If the 49ers think Brandon Jones is worth that, then they can have him. Mr. Jones has an excellent agent.

A WR must be a priority now, or the front office is completely clueless.

I heard that we're talking to the Rams for a trade for Torry Holt, combine that with a possible signing of Nate Washington and Justin Gage plus our two TEs our receiving corp will be a lot better.

yeah, I've read rumors of some sort of Holt for Chris Henry trade. If that happens, wow on the titans part; can address a need and get rid of chris henry. But I really want to see some report on that before I really consider it too much more.

Also the Giants signed Rocky Bernard so that means Chris Canty is likely not to sign with them, he's no Albert Haynesworth but is probably the next best thing. I really hope the Titans Front Office will step up the pressure on signing him, I believe he is due to visit us tomorrow...

Really? I thought they could at the very least match the 10 they won in '07, and that was before they lucked out with Young being sidelined for pretty much the entire season.

your right absolutely correct on this one. if young had of played the entire season i don't think we would have done nearly as well last year.

If we're landing the two receivers I previously mentioned I don't mind him leaving, what I'm really hoping for is that the Titans really give Hawkins more playing time. From the few catches he made in the regular season he looks pretty good, maybe in his second year he'll start to see more action.

Well - Holt is getting pretty old and Jones is still pretty young... and Washington would be a nice addition, but nothing ground breaking I would guess.

He's only 32 look at other receivers TO's in his 30s, TJ is 31, Harrison 36, etc. I'm not too concerned about his age, plus he'll give us some productive years before he hangs it up.

Secondly I'm expecting to hear news on Nate Washington since his visit is going on probably right now, second I think the Giants are out of the running for Chris Canty...

Giants actually signed Canty if I'm correct.

I'd like to hear good news of working to get holt or washington, but since we haven't seen anything about Washington since his visit, I'm starting to think we didn't offer or at least didnt offer well

Holt trade is apparently tied up over draft pick compensation...

His agent said this, "Out of all the scenarios, that is one that definitely fits what he wants to do. He wants to be with a contender, He'd like to be in Tennessee, I can tell you that. He could come in and add to what they have and take them over the top."

I'm pretty sure if we offer him a good contract he won't leave Nashville as a non-Titan.

I would hope so too, but this is the titans FO we are talking about here though...

True, also we're interested in Jovan Haye a DT I believe nothing scheduled as of yet though.

I believe the Holt trade deal is being held up because of draft picks plus the Rams want to package Orlando Pace and Holt in one deal and we don't need him.

Finally Samari Rolle is expected to be released by the Ravens soon, want to take bets on if we sign him as CB depth?

If we don't end up trading for Torry Holt, then we MUST draft a WR. If you look at the most productive WR's in the league, they were all drafted by their current team.

Examples:

-Larry Fitzgerald
-Anquan Boldin
-Andre Johnson
-Roddy White
-Greg Jennings
-Reggie Wayne
-Hines Ward
-Santonio Holmes
-Chad Johnson
-TJ Houshmanzadeh
-Calvin Johnson
-Steve Smith

I say we trade up and try to take Hakeem Nicks or Darrius Heyward-Bey. Can you imagine the speed we would have on offense if we drafted DHB?

I don't see us trading up and drafting a WR in the first round, most likely a defensive player to add depth at CB or draft a DT to replace Big Al.

I'm hearing that Holt will be cut by the 15th if a trade isn't done before then, so maybe we can sign him even if the trade doesn't work out. I'm still eager to find out the results of the Washington visit, I wish we could find out today if he is indeed a Titan.

Finally our FO has signed a respectable wide receiver, Nate Washington has signed with us, contract details weren't disclosed;

Titans, Washington agree to deal on Nashville City Paper

I just hope we can land Holt or some other strech the field type guy and we're good on the offensive side of the ball and use the draft to pad our D.

Wow, even even signed Jovan Haye, our free agency didn't start last year till the third I believe so its exciting to see our FO really stepping it up early.

I agree that we won't see a trade up for a WR at all from this team, it's not their style. I disagree though partly on who we'll draft though. But I think it'll be either a CB (DJ Moore) or best-available-player, which seems to be one of a few DEs. I think that the Titans FO intends to see over the next year or 2 whether or not Jason Jones - whom they invested a 2nd round pick on - can rise up and take Al's place. That coupled with the depth signing at DT we just made means we won't see a 1st round DT-to-replace-Al pick this year I feel.

I also think with the Washington signing that the Holt deal is off probably

I agree that D.J Moore might he a possiblitly if we don't lock up one in free agency, I heard he was a boy scout version of Pacman not sure if that's true though.

Craig Hentrich has promised to come back for his 16th season, no contract details yet.

Well Torry Holt wants out of St. Louis, anyone think we'll snatch him up if they let him test the waters in FA? Also we've brought in a guy called Justin Miller who is a CB/PR from Oakland, anyone heard of him?

If I'm not mistaken, I believe Justin Miller was a pro bowl return specialist for the Jets. Not a bad pickup considering Chris Carr is gone. But I would love to get Torry Holt in here.
