2024 Official Seed List Watch Party Thread

So it’s ok to make Iowa State travel 1,700 miles and Marquette 1,100 miles but not Tennessee 2,100 miles…you are aware that these school are using airplanes right?

My scenario…
Midwest: Purdue & Iowa State 279 + 624
South: Houston & Marquette 244 + 1056
East: Connecticut & North Carolina 84 + 707
West: Tennessee & Arizona 2185 + 486
Total: 5,665

Your scenario:
Midwest: Purdue & North Carolina 279 + 595
South: Houston & Marquette 244 + 1056
West: Arizona & Iowa State 1,719 + 486
East: Connecticut & Tennessee 84 + 918
Total: 5,381

So a less than 300 mile total difference to completely screw up the regions? That doesn’t make any sense at all.
I’m not saying what you saying is wrong. I just don’t think the commitee is going to give TN the number 1 based on the geographical region that’s left to be given ((WEST) when they can easily just give it to a west team in AZ.
I honestly think the committee would rather have this because it’s a a more “balanced bracket” regarding the top 4 seeds. I really HOPE I’m wrong, but i truely believe the committee is settled with AZ in the West regardless if TN goes 2-0.

UConn - 84
Houston - 244
Purdue - 279
TN - 2185? Or AZ - 486?

Idk if I’d love to face them, but I think we matchup pretty well with them. Both of those 8/9s I don’t feel wonderful about.

Neither would be easy, but round of 32 games rarely are easy. Think we’re more than capable of beating either of them. As long as we avoid dropping any stinkers like we had against SC and at A&M, I think we reach the Sweet Sixteen with a great chance at going beyond that.

That’s the beauty and the terror of a single elimination tournament. You can be leagues better than an opponent, but if enough things go wrong on that one night, your season could be over with.

Palm at CBS has us as a 1 seed(west) in Charlotte opposite FAU vs Texas in the 8/9 game. I wouldn't mind running into FAU again.

Nebraska’s best wins were at home. The only good road win they have is at K State and that was months ago. They wouldn’t bother me a bit and I agree with you that overall this bracket would be really good for us. We just need to win tonight and then again Saturday. Do that and I don’t see how UT could be denied the 1 seed.

The only reason I wouldn't be a fan of playing Nebraska is because they are 0-7 all-time in the NCAA tournament. If I'm thinking right, they are the only power conference team that has never won an NCAA tournament game. I don't know if I could handle another storyline in a postseason game.

I feel you there. For the first time under Barnes I have no doubt we will be better than any team we see before the Elite 8 and I don’t think there’s any team that is clearly better than we are. All we have to do is play hard and play smart. If we do that we will make the Elite 8 at a minimum. I think this is where these next 2 games come into play. Win the 1 seed and the odds on that Elite 8 becoming a Final 4 double based on seeding history.

I've sat and thought quite a bit on the teams I truly think we would have a tough matchup against and I think the #1 team that I would feel most uncomfortable with would be Houston. Not that they are the overall, hands-down best team... I just think the way they play can match the way we play and they are the only team IMO that has the potential to do it better than us even if we do play good. BUT, I think we can play with anybody and beat anybody in the entire country.

Dude, Arizona and UCLA were both 2’s last year and instead of giving them a 1 seed in the West they gave Kansas that 1 seed and made them travel 1,400 miles. Literally just last year, what you’re saying the committee won’t do they did.

Agreed to all points. With a 1 seed, I feel like we just need to overcome the first weekend upset. Just let some down-bracket upsets happen, handle business, survive and advance. Been hurt too many times the first weekend lol

Disagree 100%. If we win our last two, we will be the #1 seed, and may still get it if we go 1-1.

Well now we’re playing for a 1 seed according to Lunardi 😂

Beep...beep...beep...beep...

What's that sound?

Oh, just Joey Brackets rollin' in reverse and his bracket falling apart.
So by his logic if we win tonight then we will finally be the last 1 seed. I wonder if then tomorrow on his update he will say “Arizona will move back into the last 1 seed if they beat 14-15 UCLA”
