2024 Official Seed List Watch Party Thread

Kansas coming off a loss and playing on their home floor. I don’t see them losing. And I’ll actually go as far to say they are 100% winning that game. And I hate to say this but I also think Kentucky blows Gonzaga off the floor
The way they play defense, I’m never confident in Kentucky. One off shooting night and they can lose to anyone.

Tons of home teams we want to win, could lead to a crazy day of hoops, obviously Tennessee winning is the most important. Biggest games outside of ours imo…

Does Wisc losing hurt us? What about Illinois?

Was wondering the same thing, from a “perception” standpoint. @TennesseeFan07 explained Wisconsin perfectly, and Illinois moves closer to the Q1 fringe since they were NET #13 pre-loss and need to stay NET top 30 to count as Q1.

It does feel as if the Vols’ absolute floor is around 14 (low three/high four) now pending a total collapse.

No Baylor-Kansas?

We're gonna end up on the 3 line by seasons end. More losses coming for this team. Just too inconsistent, and worst rebounding team I've seen under Barnes.

Eh. We shouldn’t lose any of our next 4 and any non-home losses beyond that won’t hurt us. We’re pretty set as a 2 seed barring apocalyptic collapse.

I’m not ready to say we can’t lose to Arkansas or Mizzou. I wont predict a loss but it’s always possible. Truth is, this team isn’t consistent on the road and we’ve seen some inexplicable losses. And A&M at home won’t be a cakewalk either. They just beat us by 20.

Fair. But 1/2 wouldn’t necessarily hurt us on the seed line, assuming UNC/AZ/KU take another road loss. I understand the alarm after tonight’s game, but I won’t be in panic mode unless we start dropping road games to non-tourney teams at this point.

Let’s not count our chickens after that performance
Shouldn’t. Very well could, but there’s zero tourney teams away and only Arky at home during the stretch. Would be alarming to lose any of the home games and more than 1 (maybe even 1) away.

It’s not the loss tonight that concerns me but it’s the same problems popping up. We run into a physical team and we can’t box out to save our lives and everybody but Dalton and Z go into their shell on offense

I agree. Said this in the game thread, but we badly need 1 of 2 things to happen: Aidoo grow a set and play through contact or Awaka stay out of foul trouble. Hell, even a small mix of the 2 would help. We gotta have a post that can hold his own and help out on the glass/scoring inside. Too many times this year we’ve seen guards/wings as the leading rebounders.

Yup, and if neither of them can do it I’m not opposed to seeing if Estrella or Phillips can. At the very least to give Aidoo and Awaka a kick in the rear and rid them of any complacency

Phillips probably is a no at this point, but Estrella has shown a ton of promise. Wouldn’t mind seeing him get more minutes.
