2024 WNBA Discussion Thread

I don’t think TSpoon will last long as a HC. I have a feeling they thought they could use Angel inside out at the 3 some but her shot is atrocious.

She used to handle the ball pretty well. I remember brining it up quite a bit at Maryland like Diamond Miller.

Mulkey doesn’t play that game though and she lost all her ball handling skills at LSU.
Angel still has her ball handing skills. She's at best when she's going downhill towards the basketball. The Sky brought Diamond in to play the three but she's a shell of her former self. Onyenwere stepped up during the mid-season and has been adequate at the 3.

Man Atlanta just totally coughed the bone in a game they desperately needed to make the playoffs. Rhyne Howard had a great day, 3rd straight 30 pt game, but late in the game and in OT she's just firing ill advised shots and the Dream has no other plan. Then unbelievably, down two and w plenty of time on the clock they intentionally foul a 90% ft shooter and its over. Wright is a really weak coach and they don't deserve the playoffs, though I'd love it for Howard and TIna Charles.

Mystic also lost today, so if Chicago beats the Mystics, and their off to a good start wo Angel, can take a big step. Izzy Harrison started in Angel's place but again it's Chennedy Carter doing the thing.
Izzy had a game! 21 pts. 9 rebounds. Very efficient. Lets hope she can keep rolling. Sky might still make the play-offs.

This league was around last year, Rae played in it. Coming to Nashville Feb/Mar. Will have to compete w college bball and the new Unrivaled League. BC the W can make anything snippy, this is already shaping up as Unrivaled being the cool kids and this league being the kid's table.

Bashara Graves played in this last year!

Hmmm Clark is rumored to want to play 5x5. If she chose this league she would decimate unrivaled before it’s even off the ground.

Not sure who is more embarrassing to the forum:

Your Caitlin-Stan/Angel sucks pronouncements

-or-

That dude that claims everything about the LVs is elite.
Who exactly is the forum trying to impress that my posts might be embarrassing it lmao?

There are like 8 people who post here regularly. Just because you don’t agree or like my posts doesn’t mean I’m going to change my opinion.

Standing behind my position has always served me well and I won’t be changing my posts for anyone’s comfort. Ever.

When I’m wrong I will admit as much. This isn’t a right or wrong issue. It’s an opinion.

My opinion is Caitlin Clark is the best thing to happen to women’s basketball since Pat Summitt. Yes, real talk.

My position is also that Angel Reese is one of the worst things to happen to women’s basketball since Liz Cambage.

"Obviously they gave me the options to play, and deal with the pain as tolerated," Reese continued. "But it's not worth it... I want to have a long career in the league, I want to play basketball for a while. So it's not worth it."

So she was cleared to play but has opted for elective surgery instead?

Color me confused. Typical from that camp.

Change your opinion? Not my goal. Pointing at you and laughing at your stalkerish behavior regarding Caitlin? Yeah, that’s a little closer to my intent.

Edit: just to note. You followed up with a post demeaning Angel. You have been read like a book.

Ur spot on. This posters constant (and i mean constant) glamoring of clark and slander of Reese is predictable and so annoying. Thank u for finally calling it out.

…just keeping a receipt….before you go back and change it.

It’s the WNBA season and they are the two most talked about and polarizing figures.

Sorry for liking women’s basketball?

I’m a Clark fan because she’s an absolute baller and a generational talent. Would you like to deny that? If so, have fun on the wrong side of history.

Angel is literally ass at basketball and has to use Clark’s name for clicks and attention. It’s sad and desperate and I’ll call it out until the bitter end. She calls all Clark fans “racist” because they don’t support her, which is totally asinine. I just don’t like watching someone brick 10 layups a game and run their mouth constantly.

At least Clark backs up her antics with her play.

I didn’t want to respond but I can’t have u spreading lies, here’s Reese quote, just giving the fact, u don’t need to respond.
"The risk of not having surgery, I could literally have arthritis at 22 years old," she said. "That wasn't an option. … Long term, I literally could have not played any more because this is a very hard place to heal because the blood flow is, literally, zero to none. So that wasn't an option."

Not gonna matter. @VolBall09 iz a hater:

Can’t deny that. Never sought to do so.

This is where you go off the tracks. Own it.

Yes, my hate for Angel runs deep. This is SPORTS. For as long as sports have been a thing there have been polarizing players people love, and love to hate.
I get it. I’ve been a Rockets fan for years. Haven’t followed closely since Haren left. (Yes. No D. Not really fair. Played great D, especially in the post) Harden was the epitome of a polarizing NBA player. And I was guilty of knocking down Steph and Russ.

Yer making me feel guilty as I review my personal history… 😉🤙🏼

Do you remember Captain Jackass? Mavs fan with the blue mask?

I do remember Captain Jackass.

And James Harden and Angel are literally my two LEAST favorite hoopers of all time for very similar reasons.

Matthew Dellavedova is right up there too. I put him and Dijonae in that same boat. Defensive stoppers that are always doing too much and otherwise have minimal skill.

Dijonae did improve this season but she still drives me nuts.

Nah. First and foremost, Unrivaled will have been off the ground and halfway thru when AU starts. Second, if anything decimates either or both it will be that they're happening in the heart of college wbb and March Madness. No contest there.

AU will also have the distinct disadvantage of obviously being the kid's table, full of hard working journeywomen while the top names are in Unrivaled. Witness Lexie Brown being the face of AU while Phee and Stewie are the faces of Unrivaled.

CC in AU would be interesting and no doubt drive up interest and attendance. OTOH, she would roll up huge numbers but it would be against the junior varsity. Not sure how helpful that would be to her development while risking injury. Probably the best thing for CC both mentally and physically this winter would be just rest. Step away from it all, train privately, have some fun, and rest.

I will say CC not being invited to Unrivaled, which is supposed to be the top 30 players in the league, would be an obvious purposeful overlook. And we don't know for sure she won't be invited, still 11 players to go and they promised 3 or 4 rookies and they only have 2 so far. Also, we don't know that she hasn't been invited and turned it down to follow my wise advice to just chill for a few months.

Angel and the Sky made the right decision in every aspect. Can't risk permanent injury, plus gives a sympathy angle and another physical reason/excuse for being an epically bad offensive player. This season wasn't going to get better for AR, this was the perfect time to call it a wrap.

Going to be interesting to see how AR does in full court 3 x 3 Unrivaled. Doesn't run the court all that well.

Part of the reason Reese shut down is because she knew she was out of the running for Rookie of the Year. Reese is proficient at one thing only - rebounding.

Harrison can more than adequately take her place in the lineup if she stays healthy.
