2025 SEC Tournament

I’d like to get a shot at Auburn. So the #4 seed and a win on Friday sets that up on Saturday.

I’d prefer the 3-seed because however remote our chances of getting the 1-seed are (extremely remote) our only shot is to beat Florida head to head again and hope the Committee goes against how they typically treat Saturday games in Nashville.

#1 Barn, #15 LSU, and #16 USC might be set. The rest are too much of a log ham to bother trying to figure it out.

Barn, Fl, and Bama have double byes locked up.

TN, Miss, Mizz, and TXAM have at least single byes.

Opening day:

USC
LSU
OU
Texas
Georgia
Arkansas

I think that 6 of the 8 opening round teams are determined. 2 of UK, VU, and Miss State are the other 2 although UK has a one game lead over VU and Miss State and might have the single bye if any body wants to go through those tie break scenarios.

1. Auburn (15-2)
2. Florida (13-4)
3. Alabama (12-5)
4. Tennessee (11-6)

5. Ole Miss (10-7)
6. Missouri (10-7)
7. Texas A&M (10-7)
8. Kentucky (9-8)

9. Mississippi State (8-9)
10. Vanderbilt (8-9)
11. Arkansas (7-10)
12. Georgia (7-10)
13. Texas (6-11)
14. Oklahoma (5-12)
15. LSU (3-14)
16. South Carolina (2-15)

Barn (15-2): Bama
FU (13-4): Ole Miss
Bama (12-5): at Barn
UT (11-6): USCjr
Ole Miss (10-7): at FL
Missouri (10-7): at OK, KY
TX AM (10-7): at LSU
KY (9-8): at Mizz
MS State (8-9): at Ark
VU (8-9): at GA
Ark (7-10): MS State
UGa (7-10): VU
TU/ut (6-11): OK
OK (5-12): at TU/ut
LSU (3-14): TX AM
USCjr (2-15): at UT

They were already a game ahead of us (record-wise) coming into last night, but Tennessee was ahead of them on the seed line. In fact, Tennessee was ahead of them in the projections, even before beating Alabama. So their “lead” is very slight. Other factors are obviously at play. If 1 loss on the road to OM drops us below them, then surely a win over them puts us back ahead of them.

But I do see your argument and reasonable minds can disagree. I hope we get a chance to find out which of us is right.
I do too and I hope it’s you! I agree that is being within 1 game is good enough. If they slip up against Ole Miss we’re back in. For that matter, same thing with Houston at Baylor.

The 1 seed ship has sailed, barring a UF slip up to Ole Miss. Florida is going to finish 2 games better than us in the regular season. I don’t see the potential SEC tourney matchup making a difference but it would be cool to see it happen so we know for sure. Florida is a solidly the last 1 as of today.
We’d have to win the SEC Tournament to be in the discussion for a 1 seed IMO

If Tennessee is the 3-seed, it’s very likely that Kentucky will be the 6-seed if they beat Missouri this weekend. So, could get an unfavorable matchup in our first game. I’m sure many of our fans would want that matchup, but I don’t. We just aren’t a good fit for playing against them this year.

I think our #2 seed is pretty much set so I would like another shot at them. It would suck losing 3 times to them but at the same time I don't think it hurts us really. So might as well. And bonus if we win we can be like "that's better."

He’s talking about the SEC Tournament, where we’ll be the #3 seed if we win Saturday and Alabama loses to Auburn.

Not necessarily.
If we win our quarterfinal game on Friday and play Florida in the semifinals on Saturday, we might get the last number one if we beat the Gators especially if we win by 10 or more.

Yeah I agree. I believe since there is a tight race for a 1 seed between Florida Tennessee and now Alabubba, I think us winning the SEC with a win over Auburn and Florida (series determining) would boost us.

I know in years past the tourney hasn’t mattered but with how tight and how good the league is, I could see the tourney mattering if the top 4 make it the semi’s

If A&M wins they’ll be the 5 seed.

They’ll play either Vandy or the winner of tonight’s Texas/OU game
