My main issue is Houston. There is nothing on earth on their résumé that makes up for 1-2 less loss comparison to a Florida or Tennessee.
Weaker conference and lost every big non conference game…
Fair point. Houston was #8 in the early reveal while Florida was #4. Only difference since then is Florida has a loss. And I still actually object to this.
If Florida wins.....sorry, they should be in the Midwest. I can't get over that Florida can have a 5-1 record vs Alabama, Tennessee and Auburn. And of the 4 wins that have already occurred.....damn the final score.....they were beat downs. They dominated those games. What if they have a convincing win tomorrow?
Now, I'll grant that Duke, Houston, and Auburn did nothing deserving of some sort of punishment......but, I don't see where Houston should be higher in the pecking order. I really don't
Tennessee would have also had to get past Kentucky first, who unfortunately they were also 0-2 against this year, before another Florida game would have even become a thing. (I might be wrong but I think the seeding would have flipped and Tennessee would have had Alabama’s spot).True, but if wins this weekend, particularly an opportunity to beat Florida tomorrow isn't going to help us, it's also fair to wonder if a Saturday loss to Florida would have hurt us.
Isn’t the Big 12 expected/predicted to get around 8 teams into the tournament? (There’s at least 4 ranked teams at the beginning of conference tournament week)That’s why I think Houston getting a number 1 seed is the most overrated thing ever. They just won a 3 team league conference title. They lost to Bama and Auburn in non conference. Hard for me to actually believe they should be a 1 seed while having 2 less losses than us and same number of losses as Florida.

Only the #1 overall seed gets to pick their opening weekend site. After that it goes in S-Curve order based on proximity to campus. Lexington is 2.5 hours from Knoxville, while Raleigh is twice that far. We’ll be in Rupp next weekend and I can’t wait.Committee determines when they set up the bracket. The school doesn’t really have any input into it.
Wouldn’t surprise me at all if Houston is #4 overall and the SEC winner today is #3 overall and placed in the Midwest.I’m sorry but outside of Houston, Texas Tech, and Iowa State, what else does the Big 12 that is actually a legit deep run team? BYU got their brakes blown out…. Kansas is a joke. Baylor has taken a major step back this year…. Arizona is fool’s gold
The toughest opponents Houston have played were non conference teams that they conveniently lost both.
Houston is a slightly better version of Duke and the ACC.
There is no justification or rationale that makes sense that a 4 loss Houston team with 2 losses to SEC teams have some major seed advantage over a Florida or Tennessee with only 1-2 more losses.
Florida didn’t beat Kentucky this year, either.Tennessee would have also had to get past Kentucky first, who unfortunately they were also 0-2 against this year, before another Florida game would have even become a thing.
