There's a difference between our government leaving something alone and an individual in our country leaving something alone.

Jones is a hateful idiot but he's free to do what he did and he is not guilty of any crime here.

Viewing Muslims like savages that cannot be provoked is racist as all get out. They are responsible for their own actions and what Jones did in no way justifies or excuses those actions.

Jones is a moron, they are murderers - pretty big difference.

So all this because Jones claims to have burned a Koran? Sounds like no one even saw it other than people in the church and there is no mention that there is video.

The church says on its website that it planned to put the Quran on trial on March 20, and, "if found guilty of causing murder, rape and terrorism, it will be executed!" Another post on the website says "the Koran was found guilty" during the mock trial and "a copy was burned inside the building."

Pull the troops out? So the Taliban can rebuild their terrorist camps and provide a safe environment so they can train and carryout terrorist attacks thoughout the world?

I can't say that I enjoy my trips over there, but I do understand why we're there.

For any radical Muslim within earshot, I hereby state that I, and many of my fellow Americans, condemn without qualification, the actions of Mr. Jones and his "church." Please don't think that he is representative of all Americans, or of all Christians. In fact, please understand that he did what he did in order to trigger the reaction in Afghanistan, and to thereby convert people to his warped way of thinking.

Please convince your fellow Muslims not to let this man, or others like him, influence your view of America or Christianity. In our society, he has the right to do some of these things. But that does not in any way mean that we approve of it.

How many Afghans were killed during the Soviet occupation? Estimates are somewhere between 600 thousand and 2 million civilian deaths.

please also understand our laws are not draconian like your own and allow people the freedom of speech and religion without fear of persecution. You took the law into your own hands based on some guy reportedly burning some papers and that is wrong in any civilized society.

Please note that some Americans will understand your need to behead some folks because of PJs insentive ramblings above. We are currently trying to figure out what to imprison him for.

Yeah, that's exactly what I said [sarcasm].

It's not that difficult. We can't control what they do, but we can control what we do. They didn't mess with us until we messed with them. Nobody has any evidence to support the idea that terrorists would still attack us if we had remained non-interventionists.

Even if we still suffered a few isolated incidences of terror, how can you fight a war on terror? It's a faceless enemy. It's beyond ridiculous. You can't effectively fight a war where it's difficult to even identify the enemy.

I would love for the US to tell Israel that it can unleash the dogs. It's the US policy of restraining Israel that has emboldened Hamas, Hezbollah and their accomplices.
