#9 South Carolina @ Vanderbilt

Knock SC all you will for their history, but its probably between them and UGA for the east this year. They'll get better as the year goes on, and it would have been nice for them to pick up a cheap loss before they hit their stride later in the year. Even if they had won tonight, Vandy was not going to be in contention for the division.

Shouldn't be too hard for them to get better than they were tonight. They are way overrated.

Where's bamahatr?

He whiffed on this prediction.

No I didnt Mutanthead. I NEVER said Vandy was going to win, I did say it wouldnt surprise me if they upset SC, but I never said they would win.

Not a whiff, drilled this one out of the park and you monkeys can rail on all you want about how bad Carolina sucks, how bad a game Spurrier called, how dirty Vandy played, what a lousy game the refs called, etc etc etc. But the bottom line is...Vandy showed up, just as I told you they would.

Now save all this "same ole Vandy" crap. Its just a sign of the mass ignorance of Tennessee fans. South Carolina does not suck, Vandy is much improved, and I am considerably richer than I was this morning . :eek:lol:

Id rather them be as highly ranked as possible when UT plays them. Vandy will never be ranked when we play them, so it doesn't look as good. An undefeated UT - USCe matchup sounds much better to me.

how does clay Travis spin this one? I'll bet he harps on the missed PI and claims that vandy would've won if it was called.

I doubt he'll have to do a lot of spinning because the guy he thinks is a great up and coming coach just lost on a cheap missed PI call to the team he picked to win the NC. I can't imagine the game having played out any more perfectly for his agenda.

I can't believe what I'm reading. SCAR is a top 10 team and UT hasn't been ranked in how many years? People are saying that UT should have no trouble with them?

Pure unadulterated insanity.

This.

I love how nothing ever changes around here; how many posts said this same stuff last year: "Team A looked bad tonight so now I feel better about our chances". And now it's happening again.

Newsflash, this game probably tells us very little about our matchup with SC several weeks from now.

I guess I just have more faith in Tennessee. Everything you could ask as far as money, facilities and prestige goes. South Carolina has brought in Lou Holtz and Steve Spurrier but that seems to be their best bet as far being legit goes. Bring in guys at that are old and at the end of their career.

South Carolina is a solid program but I just wasn't impressed from what I saw tonight. If this is what they look like the rest of the year and they remain in the top 10, college football is in for a down year.

I'm telling you. I've actually spoken with the last two Vandy coaches prior to Franklin. The words are the same every single time.

I don't care about words. I'm just watching them play, schemewise, effortwise and talent wise.

I don't know how you guys say they aren't more talented when their recruiting classes have been better than ever. That contradicts itself.

I don't know that they will win many games or not. Don't really care, but if all the other coaches around know it's not the same old non talented Vandy teams, I'll agree with them.

that was the worst game.both of those teams looked so slow.sc had 5 sacks but their pass rush was not effective.and vandy is still vandy.

He picked SC to win the NC. Good grief.

So now we are going to sit around and pretend like those were two good football teams? They both looked like **** to me.

UT won several games like this even in their glory days of the 90s.

So you're declaring Vandy to be a better team, but it doesn't matter if they don't win many games?

I see you waited till after the game to post that GA.

If you can't see the difference in how they play and don't lay down, you haven't watched them as long as I have. They are going to be in every game that they play in the SEC east. Have you been able to say that before?

Only because the SEC East sucks.

Did you not spend years listening to the three Daves on Jefferson Pilot talk about how gritty the Commodores were and how they always played with such heart? Did you not watch them play tough and close with good teams every single year, only to always fall find a way to lose at the end? I haven't seen anything on the field yet that looks any different than it did under Bobby Johnson and Woody Widenhofer.
